I dont really have a budget.. My AT&T contract is over (as soon a they receive their returned V551). I am looking to do something pretty soon. I think i have narrowed it down (with the help of phonescoop.com) to the Moto V710 or E815 (when its released), the Moto V635 and the LG VX-8100 (when released).

I have added a few other requirements since starting my research:
Has to have a headphone jack (for listening to MP3's)
Has to have additional memory slot (for holding MP3's)
Has to have Bluetooth (for my headset and car)
" " " MP3 player
" " " 1 mega pixel (or more) camera (jut want it )

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

 

s700i or moto e398

 

the s700i doesn't have a headset jack although the sony ericsson stereo headset is very superior to the competition. The UI on the S700i is definitely better than the e398 but that's just me.

you can't upgrade the memory on s700i, u have to stick with 32mb well @least thats what i heard but on e398, i had 128mb

 

Doesnt the S700i Use Memory Stick DUO, same stuff used in the new PSP, think those go pretty high now.

 

The Moto V635 is supposed to be released soon.. If anyone can get their hands on one of these i would be very interested. If not i think i will have to switch to Verizon and get the V710 or E815 (when it comes out).

Shit my cell battery dies quick enough already, don't need to be listening to music on that shit. How long do they last? Because if it is anything like some of the phones I have had it would be horribly un worth it.

You better know how to flash your V800 if you're gonna get one cause DRM is a pain in the ass and Congress in the U.S. is trying to pass a law making DRM mandatory on all phones. ugh...time to make plans to move haha.

 

I picked up a Sony Ericson s710a this weekend (got a great deal from a friends ex-girlfriend). All i have to do now is get it unlocked so that it will work with my AT&T SIM card.

Anyone know how to go about having this phone unlocked?

You should be able to call up Cingular and request for the unlock code and have no problem getting it since you're a cingular/at&t customer. If not, you'll need a T28 service cable and some now how (cough cough email me) and then you'll be able to unlock it. I have an S700i for sale...it's the silver world tri-band version if anyone is on T-Mobile. I checked out the S710a back in November I believe...even in beta form it felt solid. blah, anyway, that's that.

I have a call in to Cingular.. They are supposed to call me back tomorrow to give me the unlock codes. Man!!! it was like pulling teeth to get to the resolution dept that then got me to teir 3 support to get the unlock codes.

I really hate Cingular! AT&T was the bomb compaired to them...

 

I don't exactly know where the rock is in texas but if I lived close to you I could help you unlock it pretty fast.

BTW, I've dealt with at&t and cingular when they were separate companies and the at&t reps at store are not so bright. Cingular has the edge on that...but as for on the phone, they're both equally bad. haha.

 

The Rock is actually "Round Rock" (just a little outside of Austin). Im having a problem getting this phone unlocked because its so new. Do you have SW that will unlock the sony ericsson s710a? If so i can deff drive to the Dallas area.
