Buying a new computer, Need Advice!!

I am buying a new Dell, and was wondering if the 128MB ATI Raedon X1300 would be sufficient enough to run the machine with a 37" LCD monitor. (No major games, etc. Mainly going to be used for internet, etc..) Has Vista.

Thanks!

It just matters what resolution you want to run it at.

I have the 256MB x1300 in my machine at work. It runs Vista Aero OK at 1920 x 1200 x 32 (graphics & gaming graphics score of 3.4). I don't consider the card either fast or slow for generic desktop application use.

Looking at the spec of the 128MB X1300, I would say yes. But it will be really slow when doing anything related to video. I would suggest getting a Nvidia 8500 GT if Dell has an option for it.

I'm looking to get a new desktop within a month or so. Right now I am considering Cyberpowerinc and Dell. I want to run dual DVI 24" monitors (1920x1200) and the computer will be mainly used for graphics (photo processing etc - no heavy gaming) and music production. I have the audio part of it covered, at least I hope it will work with my current PCI audio equipment. Will run XP Pro on it. Will be 2 more HD's from somewhere else. I don't feel the need to spend the extra $$ for 8800 or higher video cards, I think 8600's will suffice my needs.

Any comments / suggestions / recommendations on the following SLI setup at Cyberpower?

CASE: ($20 off Mail-in Rebate) NEW! Apevia X-Jupiter Jr. (G Type Metallic Gray Color with Side-Window)
CPU: (Quad-Core)Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Q9300 @ 2.5GHz 1333FSB 6MB L2 Cache 64-bit
MOTHERBOARD: (QX9650 Support) Asus P5N-D nForce 750i SLI Chipset LGA775 FSB1333 DDR2 Mainboard
MEMORY: (Req.DDR2 MainBoard)4GB (4x1GB) PC6400 DDR2/800 Dual Channel Memory (Mushkin Value Select)
VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 512MB 16X PCI Express (Major Brand Powered by NVIDIA)
VIDEO CARD 2: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 512MB 16X PCI Express (Major Brand Powered by NVIDIA)
HARD DRIVE: Single Hard Drive (320GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16MB Cache 7200RPM HDD)
Optical Drive: (Special Price) 20X DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW DRIVE DUAL LAYER (BLACK COLOR)

thx in advance

Never heard of a 37" PC Monitor so I can only assume your using a TV.

TVs run at 720p or 1080p and both of which will be fine on an x1300 or 8300GS
But why bother, just buy a better card aftermarket and slap it in yourself.
Same with RAM. Go Bare minimum and upgrade yourself to 4GB for like $80
