Broken Phone and ATT/Cingular Contract Expired what to do ?
Have been thinking about taking the Verizon plunge, as per Blades recomendation. I have never had any problems with ATT wireless, but I have always HATED cingular, all the friends I have ever knoww with it, the service just sucked. I have not noticed any difference in my service since the merger and my phone screen changing to 'Cingluar'.
Also my V60i Took the final hit to the ground tonight and died
What should I do
Renew the contract with Cingular
Or
Switch to Verizon

i switched from nextel to cingular. few things:
I loved Nextel, but:
My cingular GSM service is perfect. I can honestly say in owning the phone for about 3-4 weeks, I have yet to see the phone without service. No lie. Almost everywhere my nextel i860 had no service i get full reception. in buildings, lecture halls, the mall you name it...
Rollover minutes are dope...
and, finally, the Razr V3 is the pimpest phone on the market. Not 1 complaint with it, and Bluetooth ownz....

I currently have service with AT&T/Cingular and had a work cell with Verizon for 3 months and can honestly say that compared with my personal cell, my work cell on Verizon sucked total ass. I'm not impressed at all by Verizon so I don't see any reason to switch to it. Plus, you can't get the V3 RAZR with Verizon.

It's too bad you're in Louisiana. In SoCal, there are a lot of places offering the RAZR for free.

teh razr for 500 with cing for a 2 yr contrct is a POS. if it was less than 100 then i would say its a deal.
teh v551 has been good, lg 1400, nokia 3120and 6230 are awesome
surprisingly the SE z500 has been pretty trouble free, but its big
and teh samsung 427m are are decent phones.
i still like the nokias but that is my preference

I know T-Mobile is spotty in LA altogether...My parents head that way to gamble sometimes and around the casinos its ok but when they start driving around, nope sorry. Cingular is a good choice.

also, check amazon.com for prices.
Let me tell you, based on my own experience, it is better to start from scratch with a new contract because you get a really discounted price for the new phone, and usually 1 year contract.
Having AT&T/Cingular extend you a contract, they will NOT give you a nice deal on a new phone. You can always try verizon and return it within 30 days if service is poor.
