Bluetooth Cellphone

Why would I want a cell phone with Bluetooth on it?

I am looking at the Sony Ericsson T68i phone with Bluetooth, and don't really use any other portable electronic devices, is this necessary at all? What advantages does it give me?

Also, is this a good phone? I am deciding between this and the Motorola 720 since they are the only decent phones from AT&T. Thanks for the help, I am looking for a little more specific info than the last cell phone thread.

Bluetooth is a wireless capability between your phone and another device. For example, with bluetooth phones and a bluetooth headset, you can talk to people with just your bluetooth headset on, but the T68i would be used to make the call. You can have the T68i laying on your desk though and just be talking into your bluetooth headset. Headsets car range up to $100+. I think this is the most common use for bluetooth. You can also connect your T68i with bluetooth enabled PDA's and Computers/Labtops. I have the T68i and it's better than the T720i. But the RF is horrible on it. I guess if you want a flip get the T722i, much better than the T720.

You dont need bluetooth yet...Not alot of stuff out on the market is compatiable..you have plenty of time to wait for the good stuff..

in terms of headsets you can get bluetooth compatiable 2.5mm Jack ones for like 150 which is just as good..

With Bluetooth wireless technolgy you can

1.Connect your phone to your Bluetooth headset "without the wires". Leave your phone in your shirt pocket, in the glove box, in the backseat. You can get up and walk away from your desk while your phone remains on the charger.

2.Connect your phone to your laptop computer and transfer data from your computer to your phone...wirelessly. Create a DUN connection and use your computer to surf the Internet wirelessly at AT&T speeds...you will need to Bluetooth USB Adapter like a DLink. Or use your favourite Bluetooth enabled PDA instead.

3.Connect to Bluetooth printers, Bluetooth car kits, Bluetooth cameras, almost anything that is Bluetooth enabled. It's not very widespread in the US right now but it might take off.

Read all about the technology here: http://www.bluetooth.com and http://www.bluetooth.org
