i installed a medical program that took 2 hours to DL. damn. after i did that, my status was 5mb free ram AFTER a bat. pull - whereas it was 15 before.
uninstalled it in a second

I never used daytimer or even electronic PDA until I got a blackberry. Having a cell phone plus something else was inconvenient, but a cell phone that can do PDA functions, even without data, is very useful since you don't have to carry another item/device, and you can sync contacts and calendars. Email and internet would make it more useful, but I wouldn't ever say a BB is worthless without email and internet.

Whats the point? Besides saying "Oh, Look at me, I have a blackberry, I'm important."

But just because people don't have a data plan with a BB doesn't mean they don't use any other feature.
Case in point my colleague had a Jornada that is dead and her cell phone is dying. She doesn't need internet or email, just PDA functions that can sync contacts and calendar, and it made more sense to carry one device instead of 2, so she got a Motorola Q. She wanted a blackberry, but she's under contract with Verizon and they were forcing a data plan with the blackberry but not with the Q.

I've had my Curve (8330) for the past couple of months or so and it's been tons of fun. However, last night it became "possessed". Every time I would try to text or even email, it would give me a different letter or combinations of words. Like :f: would give me :rdfg:. I removed the battery, memory card but couldn't change it. Then it got worst; it starts up for a minute then dies; the screen goes completely black. I can't access any application whatsoever. Maybe it's in my mind as well but I have the impression the little cursor ball hardened up. Do I have to shell out 600$ again or is there some miracle solution?

It ended up working again. I left the battery out for the night and everything was fine during the morning.
I still want the new Curve. Hopefully by the end of the summer, I'll have one.

What Would Don Draper Do?
ah thanks.
are there plans to spread it to all of the US carriers like the previous curve?
asking because the gf really likes it, but she has sprint.

Does anyone else receive errors with their 8900? I'm having this error every now and then when I start my phone :Uncaught Exception. java.lang: and it pops up three or four times, not allowing to see any SMS,E-mail or even choose my phone Profile(Quiet, Vibrating etc) nor my camera. I called my wireless provider and they're sending me a new one; hopefully that'll be the end of it.
