I've been with sprint for a while now and have been using the Sanyo 4900 for a while now as well. I have not been able to send text messages for the last couple of weeks and was wondering why. Also, I was wondering if I could use this as an issure to possibly get credit towards a new phone. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

 

Hey. Not sure what you mean by sending text messages. The 4900 can receive a text message but it cannot send one out from the phone (like 2way SMS text messaging). Maybe you are referring to Short Mail; yes all PCS Vision phones can do Short Mail. Has it not been working on the 4900? I haven't heard of any problems....but I do know that Short Mail is going thru some minor changes, perhaps in preparation for some "new" services?

In any case, if the problem persists, you may want to call it in. At that time, you may also want to inquire about your handset and length of service. It is my understanding that many months of service with Sprint can be used to credit you towards a newer handset. Unpublished...but it is available.
