The SM boot is kind of pointless (other than eliminating hw issues). And do whatever you can to NOT have to do a restore.

The SMC reset will very likely fix your problem.

Safe mode worked.

Hopefully I can back it up in that mode

Of course it should boot into SM. That very rarely fixes any problems though. At least you know HW problems likely aren't the issue.

Delete startup/login items for the user in safe mode and then try to boot normally.

Or just restore.

You can back up or do what he said below - maybe uninstall the last thing that you installed.

Apple's newly refreshed MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro models no longer support running Windows 7 with Boot Camp, according to Apple's Boot Camp support document. Boot Camp on the new notebooks only works with Windows 8 or later, so it is impossible to use Boot Camp to install Windows 7 on the machines.

Apple also dropped Windows 7 Boot Camp support in the 2013 Mac Pro, suggesting the software would cease to be supported by future Macs, but Macs released in 2014 continued to offer Windows 7 installations. The 2014 MacBook Air and the 2014 MacBook Pro will be the last Apple notebooks that support Windows 7.

Though Boot Camp no longer supports Windows 7, the operating system can continue to be used on these newer machines with virtualization software like VMware Fusion and Parallels.

looks like it doesn't work to me

Is Touchpad++ still the best windows in bootcamp touchpad software? Not having palm rejection in the bootcamp touchpad driver is killing me....

I am ONLY using it for palm rejection. Otherwise, I will throw the MBP across the room while typing anything in windows... :rage:

This is the first I've heard of Trackpad++ and it sounds amazing.

Whiskers do you think it's worse that the drivers Apple provides for Windows?

Ive uninstalled it everytime. First you need to install a power+ program with it for it to work, while it adds gestures to Bootcamp, its laggy, not as smooth as the Mac driver and not worth it in the end. For me at least.

Bootcamp on the new Macbook works fine btw

Honestly, I think I have installed and uninstalled it a few times myself...

It's back on and ONLY set to prevent accidental palm movement of the pointer while typing.

We will see how long it last this time...

You don't need to install power+ I'm sure you could just manually disable driver signing in windows

Audio/video or virus? Lol

If virus, I've never used an antivirus on a Mac before.
