wait...one more question...how do I set it up so it automatically calulates down the cell...
this is kind of hard to explain...this is what i am trying to do...

Gallons Milage MPG
XX.XXX XXX.X =aX/bX

How do I set it up so I don't have to type in "a=" every time on the MPG cell so it does it automatically after I put in Gallons and Milage...

hope this makes sense

It should calculate automatically whenever you change a value in the field. If you want to enter multiple gallons and millage in a columnular format you:

1. highlight the cell with the equation
2. click and drag the box in the lower right corner of the cell down to the last cell where you want the equation.

Then when you enter values in each cell for gallons and Milage the equation will calculate for you.

Suggest you get on to the next level & learn VBA and if you put it to use you'd get serious respect from co-workers and more $$

Rows are now Columns, America!

... I'm sure this could make the front page of the local paper, if the ethanol plant wasn't so controversial.
