Does anyone own a GoPro camera? I basically want to use it for taping myself playing sports (hockey (goalie)/golf/bowling specifically). What model would you recommend and is it worth the price? Thanks.

 

thats like asking does any one own a car?

gopro's are touted as POV cameras. are you going to be recording yourself with the cam strapped to you?
or set it up in a central location and record yourself doing those sports?

 

both. I'd put it on a table or attach to my bag for bowling/golf and I want to physically mount it to my helmet or something for goalie.

FWIW I switched to the JVC Adixxion and I love it. I had a GoPro2 and it locked on me. Got another, locked on me. I was reading osmeo of the 3's were having issues as well, so I gave up on GoPro and switched to the JVC with no regrets so far...

I have the hero 3 black and love it, so far no issues either. I took it diving last week and the video quality is great.
