Anyone have issues hooking up a Linksys with SBC dsl?
I cant get this shit to work. I have a LinkSys access point router (BEFW11S4).
Ok so i hook everything up, then i go to the linksys site and do the PPPOE setting and try to login with my sbc account, but it still wont assign me any IPs.
I get strengh of a connection from my router to my laptop but no internet connection yet. BLAST!
What the flick am i doing wrong?

What OS u runnin?
try going to the command prompt c:>
type in ipconfig, this should display your ip address, if in fact you do have an IP address...
Or go to Network Neighborhood on the laptop, click on Tools/Internet Options/Connections/LAN settings/Advanced button ensure that you are not using any config scripts or proxy servers.
Or go to Network Connections, Right click on your LAN connection, go to properties...Click on Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) and then click on properties, ensure its set to "obtain IP address automatically.
Dunno if this will help, but its a good place to start...
Good luck

If the wired connection is working and it was the original PC used to connect the DSL try spoofing the MAC address from the NIC on the PC within the router. If the wireless isn't working at all check to see if you get any signal at all from the router, it might be getting a signal but unable to find the WEP key or something of the sort. The software that came with the wireless card should have some utility to do a "site survey" and come back with possible connections. Try bringing the laptop within 10ft of the router, it should be able to get a signal w/o a problem.
If your NIC is getting all zero's it sounds like it is getting to the router (DHCP server) otherwise you'd have a 169.254.x.x address.
