Anyone got a spare copy of Win 7 lying around?

I think I need to upgrade XP Professional at home (running in a VM) to work around some bugs I'm having with some of my home automation software.

Anyone happen to have a copy of Win 7 lying around they don't need and would be willing to part with?

Win 8, I don't want to go there... This is a pretty finicky app, so I rather run on a current and supported OS.

As for the , I could go there, but haX0red copies of windows make me nervous. Rather pay a reasonable fee and be done.

Whoa nice job starting this thread because I was about to ask just about the same question.

I'm running Vista and we all know what a it is and I'm also wanting to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. I saw on Microsoft's website I can upgrade for $120 + extra $15 for a disc. but also see it on Amazon for around $105. I'm sure if I bought it on Amazon it would be authentic too.

Of course, unless someone has an extra copy lying around

Guys, asking for an extra copy is like asking for an extra cigarette To which my usual response is, nope, perfect 20 in the pack, no extras....

Haha I actually knew I wasn't going to find an 'extra' copy.

I guess my real question is, would yall recommend I buy it from Microsoft (or Best Buy for the same $120 price) or directly or from Amazon for $15 cheaper? Meh.

Ok, I take paypal. It's my old key that was on my main PC, I've since upgraded to 7 Ultimate key that I got from my Technet Subscription. You might have to call and activate it but it'll go through, I haven't used it in over a year.

Dudes, I got everything to work. Thanks to all that helped. App is working, so it must have been an issue with XP.

It's much better. But it should be for having a decades more of technology packed into it. Smoother, more efficient. More polished.
