Acer Aspire One D250 - Factory Settings
Acer Aspire One D250 - Factory Settings
So I sold my Acer Aspire on Ebay and I want to set it back to like the first day I bought it, I don't want any of my info on it when I send it to the person who bought it. I've done factory resets before but I've always had the back up disc.
Thing is this netbook does not have a CD drive, it just has USB ports, does anyone know how I can go and reset everything since I do not have a CD drive on it?
It's sort of like this one. http://www.google.com/products/catal...d=0CIcCEPMCMAg
Thanks
Kevin

You can then boot up and reinstall Windows with the USB stick. This is the fastest method for reinstalling but kinda hard because you gotta do some command prompt commands and not sure how comfortable you are with that stuff. You can search YouTube for step by step commands on how to do it. The link above has very good instructions.
Another option is if you have an external DVD Writer of some kind. You can create a System Repair Disc in Control Panel under System and Security. This is the easier route. You just need to have an external writer. Both steps above will require you to change your boot sequence in the BIOS to boot off the USB Stick or the External first which is very easy to do.

There should be a partition on the drive itself, try hitting f8 that the OEM puts on there that you can boot to and it will allow you to do a factory restore. Also check for any Acer branded apps in window itself that might make it easier to boot into the restore partition.
Windows 7 PC come with the diagnostic tools and recovery programs on a separate partition and usually OEMs add to the partition the ability to do a factory restore so check there.
