2 phone lines on one phone?

I have a Moto Q on a $39.99 Verizon plan. Is there any way to get an additional phone line on my phone? I've had a cleveland area code for area code for years now, but for my apartment complex door buzzer to work I need a local (chicago) number. I have no need for a landline and would rather pay a few bucks extra a month for a Chicago number, rather than changing my cleveland number. Any suggestions?

Maybe you could add a second line to your current plan for $10 a month. Though you have 2 phones. But it would get you your second number.

A lot of phones you can have more than one number for them, you just have to switch between the two via the phones menu. I know this works with GSM, but i'm unsure about Verizon. There are probably even phones that you can have two active numbers on at the same time. Call Verizon.

get the second number and in the menus, look for line 1-4. Add the second line and your done. For fast switching, use either the # key or the * key.

Why not just call Verizon or stop by one of their many stores or kiosks?

on verizon or sprint, you cannot have the same phone listening for phone calls on two different numbers at the same time. unless you use call forwarding.....

On the nextel network, at least the phones i had on it, were capable of handling two phone lines on the one phone. Sprint however, this isn't possible on my PocketPC phone

I don't know about Verizon phones though.
