Lots of minutes with shitty service don't mean much.

T-Mobile sucks in the NJ/NY area.

1000 nationwide Whenever Minutes® - yeah whenever you can find service.

I might have to call and get that, I have 600 for 39.99. We get great service down here, so it'd be worth it.

I haven't had much problem in South Jersey with service, but North of Trenton sucks, so I'd agree with Neil that their service sucks in NJ/NY.

I'm currently on a t-mobile contract (until August I think)

Can I switch to this new one, sign a 1 year contract and get no penalty? anyone?

doesn't matter, i asked the rep. and he said even if you are on contract, you can still get the plan but new contract starts from that today, so it doesn't DEPEND.

I guess, on Sprint they dont let you do that, you have to be after 18 months of your current 24 month contract, before you can resign for a new phone or new deal

Pick up the phone and give them a call back. The rep you spoke to probably didn't know what they are talking about. You can change your plan even if you're on contract.

Free is so misleading...you pay for it, its included in the plan.
