doesn't matter, i asked the rep. and he said even if you are on contract, you can still get the plan but new contract starts from that today, so it doesn't DEPEND. 

I guess, on Sprint they dont let you do that, you have to be after 18 months of your current 24 month contract, before you can resign for a new phone or new deal
