let's back to topic fellas...

1. gilbert arenas: he is that dude, but i don't think i'd put him amongst the best players in the league right now. he's scores a lot, is huge for his team's success, and is a good defender, but is he a point guard or shooting guard?

if he's a shooting guard, i'd put him behind kobe, wade, mcgrady, and iverson just yet.

if he's a point guard, i would take nash and maybe chris paul over him.

2. which leads me to chris paul, he's probably the second best pure point guard in the league. he will be the best eventually. but i'd still take nash over him for now.

3. and michael redd. i love his game, and i like him as a player because i read and hear that he's a really nice guy. but i don't rate him above arenas (see above).

but this is the beauty of the nba now. there are so much talent (old and new). i mean, nobody's even talking about tim duncan or kg. we think they're in their late 30's. or dirk?

After last years playoffs and until i see him in this years playoffs I'll stick with Tim Duncan.

Yeah they lost, but it was due to Manu GNobs brain fart not Dirk Novitski.

Best player = kobe. He's who I'd pick for a 2 on 2 tourney

MVP - complicated this year, but hard not to make a case for Kobe. Take Nash, Kobe and Arenas off their teams and match them up..

Wade a punk? I don't think so. If he is, we're lowering the standard for what a punk is quite a bit

if you play agressive and go to the hole a lot, you get more calls.

So far

1. Bryant = 16
2. Nash = 11
3. Wade = 7

I tend to think that Kobe is the best player right now. Don't forget though, best player isn't necessarily the MVP because best =/= most valuable. Also, you can't look at career stats, the question is who is the best player NOW. Kobe is the one I'd want to take the last shot. Nash is the one I'd want to have the ball in his hands with the clock at 10 sec. But matching them up defensively, I think Kobe is a better defender than Nash. As for Wade, he's up there, his time will come, but not right now.
