Edit:
In assembling SI's inaugural list of the top 50 American athletes by current annual income, here are some things we learned: Top-ranked Tiger Woods nearly doubled No. 2 Shaquille O'Neal's earnings; NBA players (24) make up nearly half the list; and one fifth of the athletes play for New York-area teams. There are only four football players, and no hockey players. The only two women are sisters. Candidates had to be active athletes who are U.S. citizens, which means that German race car driver Michael Schumacher (who would have been No. 2 with $71 million), British soccer demigod David Beckham ($30 million) and Czech hockey star Jaromir Jagr ($14 million), for instance, were not eligible. We also limited income to salary or winnings, bonuses, endorsement contracts and appearance fees. In other words, we don't care if Tiger and Shaq make a killing on Google stock

Yea no kidding! Its like hitting the jackpot but u know they say, that you have a better chance of winning the lotto than actually getting a sports contract and make money out of it!

Screw tigger anyway... A QB or ML batter can make a play with 40K fans screaming. PGA tour players couldn't scratch their ass without a "quiet please." At the Wachovia Championship in Charlotte, Tigger has his own crew in addition to the regular marshalls to prevent people from walking or talking during his shots. He's a pansy.

He is no longer an athlete, maybe that's why they didn't put him on that list. BTW, Grant Hill hasn't been doing any endorsement for a few years now, how did he make $11 million????

yeah I read you... I was merely pointing out where Schumacher is and that Tiger still made more...

btw, if they're merely comparing their salaries... Euro football (soccer) players will own the entire list... it's the commercial values of pro ball players in America that gets them the fat checks from endorsements
