This I agree with...but I wasn't complaining when I was getting 10% of Nationwide Tour checks that were as big as PGA Tour checks were 10 years ago. and 10 years ago someone caddying on the nationwide Tour would have never been giving money from a company to wear their hat.

Everything in the past 10 years has become more commercialized than ever. No one on tour is complaining about their $1 million dollar first prize check, and multi-million dollar endorsement.

The basket height hasn't changed. Players size hasn't changed much over that time period. The court is still the same lenght, the ball is still the same.

OK. I break golf into three eras: early era (Hogan/Jones), 70's (Nicklaus/Palmer/Miller, etc.), and the modern era (Woods/Els, etc.). As far as shotmakers, Hogan may have been better, but Jack's short game was always underrated. And of course he'll always so some class when talking about another player. I think he said the same thing about John Daly in 1993.

Call me a sexist if you want....but Michelle Wie SHOULD NEVER play in the Masters or any other major. I give Annika all the credit in the world. She tried to play with the men, realized how different the courses are, and has said no thanks to future events. Michelle needs to stick to the LPGA and dominate it like Annika has. If she wants to play the guys, play an exhibition match.

I would take Tiger's short game over Jack's any day. Tiger has the best all around short game ever. There have been others where they excelled in one area, but he excels in them all.

There is no reason for this, women are not showing any "breakthroughs" or"liberation" or whatever else the fucking dyke liberals want to believe.

There is a distinct reason there is two Tours...and it should remain that way.

With that being said, Michele Wie could kick my ass in golf. Plus she is about 6'2"
and can pretty much drive it as far as the average male golfer on tour. Oh yeah, and she is only 16. That girl is going to be scary good.

If she QUALIFIES, fine. But the 3 PGA events where she missed the cut did she qualify? No, she was given a sponsors exemption. Wie shouldn't try the PGA out again until she is dominating her own tour, the LPGA.

Does she have talent? Hell yes and has lots of it. But she better be worried about Paula Creamer (who keeps kicking her ass) than trying to figure a way into the Masters.

Basically, so they are saying the Men's tour is better, but they are equal...women are contradicting themselves in this argument. There is a WNBA, there is a women's softball league, Women are sepearte in every olympic sport. And so that should remain.

Tiger was dominating the PGA tour in 2000 and Vijay in 2004. There is no place for them to go.

No one will disagree that Tigers short game in clutch situations is the best ever. It used to be his downfall, and he turned that around in the biggest way he could have. The only person that works harder than Tiger on tour is Vijay.

By "right" I mean she showed she's good enough to give it a try. To her credit, she realized that she can't compete with the men and won't do it again. But, according to golf rules -- and we all know how golfers are sticklers for rules -- I believe there's nothing in the rulebook to stop a woman from competing on the PGA tour as long as she can qualify.

Separating sports based on gender is sexism by definition, but it is not discriminatory. Women compete against women, and men compete against men. I wouldn't have a problem with the PGA explicitly saying that only men are allowed to play, and I don't think the people that would have a problem with have a rational leg to stand on. Sure they would whine and cry for a bit, but they'd eventually lose out to reasonable arguments and precedent.

And my neighbor was also teammates with John (John Douma)

He's an asshole, but a nice guy. If that makes sense. Hes still a 20 year old IMO. I've never spent much time with him on the golf course though. From what Bobby and John said...out of their CU years (which CU, Stanford, UNLV & ASU were tops in golf) He was the best, there was something that stood out about him that made him better than everyone else...maybe its because he smokes weed a lot.

Although we did have our usual arguments (leaving his spit cup on the floor where you would knock it over) but otherwise we did get along.

You chose the latter. You could have hit on a good point though (that being, there is enough cursing in everyday life and in other sports...that coming from a golfer it shouldn't be that big a deal)

But then that could be rebutted with, people turn on golf and turn their children on to golf to avoid the football, baseball, and basketball attitudes...and don't want their kids hearing that

but then that could be rebutted with, well I bet those parents curse just as much on the golf course

and one could go back and forth with productive and meaningful resposnes all day. But once you venture into stupid rebuttal comments, you just lessen your point.
