Again, I think Grossman will bounce back next year. He is still a rookie in my eyes (first full year sans injuries).

For all the stinkers he's tossed, let's not forget the gems he's also had too this season.

Like said, be happy you made it to the big game. You think you have it bad? Look at Dan Marino, and Jim Kelly, they didn't win the big game throughout their career and they are considered among the best QBs.

Give Grossman a break, he managed many of the regular season games effectively. Let the kid grow up some more and then you can judge.

EDIT: Also, your team sucked hardcore before Grossman came along. The Bears are on the right path and you should be happy about that.

I guess the one consolation on this loss: I don't have to own up to my vow of no-robots for a month.

Thanks for the TLC. If you took a shot right now, it'd be very damaging. Kinda like the soft spot on a baby, you gotta wait a little. Boy that sounded really :ghey:

It's so funny that in a matter of 24 hours of people go from wearing their orange and blue Bears jerseys wherever I went to wearing no Bears colors at all this morning, only saw 1 person wearing a Bears ski hat.

Either there are way lot of fair weather fans in Chicago or they're embarrassed to wear Bears stuff now since they lost.

Well, I'm looking forward to getting my mind off the Bears loss with the Bulls since they're doing good right now. Then right around the corner the Cubs and White Sox again.

meh the Grossman bashing gets old. The kid had his first full season as a starter and lost only 3 games and got to the Superbowl.

Nothing to be pissed about there, he will learn from his mistakes and work on them.

damn, not this again. As for the game, looking back I admit I overlooked far too many of Grossman's mistakes. REGARDLESS though, consider this:

-Although the Bears pressure was good, Manning and the offensive gameplan were GREAT. Being able to drop off a pass to anybody at any time regardless of pressure was huge. I believe there was only 1 sack in the game, and that was against the Colts ironically.
-The Colts blocking was some of the best I have ever seen in a Superbowl, and by far the very best against the Bears I've ever seen. It wasn't even fair at times.
-The Cover 2 was completely exploited. Anyone see how like 90% of the passes were right behind the D-line? That's the hole in the Cover 2 / Tampa 2 defense. The Bears did not defend against that.
-The defense for the Bears was on the field WAY too long. Chalk it up to poor Offense, of which I need not explain.

So in conclusion, yeah Grossman played poorly, but he made some good passes, and it's not "his fault" we lost.

As bad as this was, I think alot of us can't be THAT disappointed when we've seen this before... however, this wasn't as devestating as the cubs choke against the marlins a few years ago.

Actually, I kinda disagree with you gocubsgo...
- The Bears defensive scheming was terrible at best. The Bears were so much more successful when they blitzed than when they sat back in coverage and yet, they sat back in coverage most of the time; this was why Urlacher was seen animated towards the bench because they were not attacking. Simms also noted this in his commentary.
- There was 1 sack for the Bears and 2 for the Colts (although Grossman really gave Indy both of them).
- The Cover 2 defence commentary: please look to what I said about their scheming right above.
- The gameplan went out the window when Benson fumbled and was injured and Grossman could not handle snaps suddenly. 'Nuff said.

This...

is sweet.

We have waited a long time for this. Lots of disappointment and heartache but no more. Pure exhilaration. Sorry to all you Bears fans but I think we were the better team.

Thanks for a great ride, Colts!

I also think that the entire Colts team needs to send some thank-you notes and etc. to Mr. Grossman.

Still a Fan but we didn't have to go out like that. What happened to our running game? The play calls were terrible. We are a running team and should have kept running esp in that type of weather condition. Yeah Benson was out but Jones only got 15 carries plus AP could have taken some of the load off of Jones if needed. We played like we were down by 20+ the entire game. I can't blame the D, they were worn out because we couldn't get the offense going. In order for the cover 2 to be effective we had to pressure Manning.......He picked the D apart and most was just dumping off. We deserved to lose playing the way we did....I'd feel a lot worse if we played our game and lost but since we didn't.....oh well

I'm not going to even say wait til next year.....I will have low expectations again. Hopefully they will surprise me. Lots of young players, our time will come but I don't think it will happen unless our D stays together and we get a more reliable QB. Yes it Rex's 1st full season but he is too inconsistent and fragile. Are we going to wait for him to get hurt again so we can use our crusty backups?

Danieal Manning...? Yeah, well...we can thank him for that too.

But, c'mon...MVP of the game in hindsight really isn't Peyton, Addai or even Rhodes...it's Grossman.

But, sarcasm aside, I do hope Rex grows from this...Chicago needs to stop with the QB turnstile.

I don't think he'll be doing that as Chicago's starting QB though.
