you think bonds will be pissed if he's in jail during A-rod breaks the record

Yes.

And I can't believe I actually said that to one of your posts. But I hope that happens.

I think it's the length of the contract.

I wonder if there's another opt-out in the new contract?

i think the hate for the contract is a culmination of a lot of things:

1. it's a-rod
2. it's the yankees
3. $27.5 avg isn't that much of an increase from the previous contract, but it's still a lot of money
4. as chinoz said, the length of the contract. will there be another opt-out clause? (personally, i don't think it's that big of a deal because surely, the yankees want to keep him for as long as they can so he can break the HR record as a yankee.)
5. scott boras. although, his lack of involvement has been entertaining.
6. it's not your team that's involved.
7. we want $275 million.

basically, we're all haters.

The length of the contract is the smartest part of it. Now A-rod, one of, if not, the best player in history is going to finish his career as a Yankee, retire as a Yankee, go to the hall of fame as a Yankee, and break the home run record as a Yankee.

That will be a gigantic feather in the Yankees cap and an even bigger wad of cash in their pockets.

Naw...

The guy's annoying, I'll give it that. But, that also does not discount the fact that I think this amount of $$$$ for a baseball positional player (no matter WHO it is really) kinda lame IMO...like I said, baseball players do not have as much individual impact as other pivotal players in other sports hence should not be worth this much.
