JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The son of a legend is coming to the First Coast.

First Coast News Sports director Dan Hicken reports Mike Shula has agreed in principal to become the new quarterbacks coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Shula met with Jaguars brass at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.

Shula took over the head coaching job at Alabama in 2003 before getting fired in 2006.

Shula, the son of the NFL's winningest coach Don Shula, has been an assistant coach for the Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Chicago Bears.

 

Boy they're going to need some help down. Mainly to figure out which will be the starter. It seems that people like Garrard because he can scramble, and the others want Leftwich because of his long ball.

 

If they can get a true #1 WR, Leftwich is the better QB
