I wasn't expecting a different result with the horrid O-line Chicago has...but, you have to agree, the reffing in this game was abhorrent.
I was surprised how many calls went our way... Fields will be good, just needs a couple years. Needs to get over doing stupid shit but I think once Rodgers leaves GB, we will have to worry about the Bears being the Kings of the North for a while. I cringe saying that!

Thanks...he looks to be the most talented QB in Chicago in like...forever.
But, the issue is that he has no O-line and is running for his life more often than not and the play calling is realllly suspect...but, it's better now that Lazor has taken over instead of Nagy.
I do have a question here for the football observers...
So, we all should agree that Nagy can't coach now...4 years in and this program is still a wreck...so, deservedly, people are calling for his head. But, why does Kyle Shanny seem to get a pass even if the 9ers look just as inept to me? I don't get it.

I'm going to go with because Shanny got his team to a Superbowl. He likely gets more benefit of the doubt.
I saw a meme the other day but it made a good point about Nagy - it was a picture of Mitchell Trubisky comparing his stats with Fields, with a caption, "And you all thought it was my fault". Kinda makes a point.

So, coming from a team that also has no protection in Seattle, you can relate and see with envy those teams that have an amazing pass-protection setup...BUT, at least the Seahawks' playcalling is much smarter than Chicago's.
What Louder said. The 49ers went 13-3 with a trip to the SB and then I believe had the injured plagued season right after
Not excuses but I think gives a little more leeway with the coach
And sure, the Bears record was generally decent despite the ineptitude we saw and if it were not for a double-doink against the Eagles, maybe Nagy gets to the dance as well. I just find Shanny to be teflon-ish which is just odd.
Bears also have had tons of injuries and missing key players.

Just for the record, I hope Chicago has better days. I'm not one of those fans that wallow in other team's misery. I like a good comeback story.
But I think Fields is the right piece of the puzzle. Receiver corps seems to have fallen on hard times with injuries. But one of the Fantasy Football shows I listened to made a really good point about Robinson - so if the Bears O-Line can't provide long enough protection to throw deep, why is Robinson running deep routes all the time? Their point was as their best receiver, they should adjust and put him on shorter routes and Fields can exploit him that way. Made sense to me - but then also points back to the play calling which they heavily criticized.

Bingo. The play-calling is baffling...the pass-protection is NOT strong enough for the Brady-esque Mississippis needed to throw deeper. Fields needs to get it out of his hands literally once it is snapped. So, lots of short passes...you then, mix it with a decent running game with Herbert and Montgomery when he returns...then, you have play-action as an option and then, maybe then, deeper to mid-range throws.
I mean, I've NEVER played football but been enough of it as a kid and observing it to state what seems to be obvious...But, yet...Bears don't do it. It was even worse when Nagy was making the playcalls.
I always did say that Mitch was not as bad as his record and of all team sports, the QB is a byproduct of his play-calling and protection. Like goalies in hockey are reliant on the play up front. It's not a simple process of pure talent. Anyone think Mahomes, Herbert, or even Murray can thrive in Chicago? People are dreaming if they think so.
There is also no continuity whatsoever. This coaching regime gets canned and a new system, new scheme, new style comes and the QB is all over again. Trainwreck.
Yes, the Colts game was terrible in all 3 phases. Lots of day 1 and 2 draft picks haven’t turned out great. Doesn’t mean Kyle should be canned, as is the consensus among a few dumb shit Niners fans.
The roster was absolutely decimated in 2017. In a couple of seasons they were a few plays away from winning it. I was actually at that Super Bowl and the following week was one of the most painful times in my life as a fan.
I will fight anyone that wants Shanahan gone. If Lance’s development is botched 3 years from now, then I’ll be calling for Kyle’s head.
In other news, JJ Watt with a season ending shoulder injury again. If this one doesn't make him retire I don't know what team will want to pony up the money and sign him to only half a season... That man can't stay healthy! Sad to see being a teammate back in high school.
