It's good to be Gronk!! I was just reading that he said he wanted to dip his toes in the FA pool as he had never been one before. Definitely wanted to stay with the Bucs and Brady, but supposedly said "anything can happen." Article also said he was going to be a 1 contract year guy for the rest of his playing days...............

So, just when you thought Bears could not downgrade from Mitch? They go and sign Dalton...

Bears-stupid: Instead of getting Dalton last year for $3M per, we go and lose a pick for Foles only to get Dalton for $10M this year.

Mechanically hes a freak. I think Urban Myer will be a big help
I'm not taking anything away from Mahomes, hes stupid good, but he got very lucky with the coach and talent already in place in KC. Things could've been different if he was drafted by Clev or Cinci
We'll see if they can build around Sunshine

Unless a pitcher is throwing nothing but strikes, he is also dependent on his fielding and thus, players behind him.
QBs are like that and then some. Completely reliant on the blocking, scheme, routes, catching ability of the personnel around him. It's why it is such a total crapshoot. Mahomes is a good example and while I had joked about it, there is some reality in what we saw in the Superbowl...a game where his protection went poof and the route-running was just not quite the same as it was in the regular season and last year.
Voila. He suddenly looked like Mitch of the Bears.
That being said, a QB, when everything around him is going as planned and etc., he still has to make the throw. If it calls for an 50 yard route and he has to fling that into tight coverage, it is now up to him to ensure the ball goes to the spot his WR is going to be at and well, that player catches it too. Then, well, consitently from game-to-game...That makes a great QB I guess? It's really just fascinating to me how many things have to go right really.

I think he's going to be good, but not the messiah the media is making him out to be. Because the Jags seem to be rebuilding everything, I think he's going to struggle his first season. We'll know by season 2 or 3 if he's Payton Manning or if he's something a bit less. But I don't think he'll be a flop or a bust. He may take some time though to reach his full potential.

Reading the Bears threw the kitchen sink (well, tried to) for Wilson. Three 1st-rounders, 3rd-rounders, and 2 active players (i.e. Mack included).

That's the same reason Wilson will not wind up in New Orleans either. Unless we can somehow get say Watson out of a 3-way deal....
I'm sorry you have to endure a season with Dalton. Nothing says "we're playing for next season" like signing Dalton to a 1 year deal....

I think the key problem is that we need a quarterback, and the Bears don't have a high enough first round pick for us to replace Wilson, nor did they have one on the roster to give us. The whole Wilson for Prescott idea worked because we got a QB in exchange. I think that's the sticking point that killed the deal. The Hawks would have to rely on trades or free agency to acquire a QB to replace Wilson with, and that sort-of defeats the purpose of getting all those picks (if you have to just turn around and sell them off). The Bears only shot was to work a 3-way where a good QB found his way to Seattle.

It should be easy to prove that Watson went to a motel room and flew in a therapist from Atlanta - there'd be records, cameras, etc. But my second reaction was that if he actually did go to someone's house, or literally fly someone in and meet them at a hotel, how stupid do you have to be to even think that would wind up OK when you are a public figure like Watson? If you really need a massage, go to a legit operation, or I'm pretty sure the Texans have them on staff. Why would anyone do such a thing in such a way that screams "I'm looking for a happy ending".
Which kind of wraps back around to my first reaction - this sounds just implausibly stupid on Watson's part. I think it's either a straight up lie from the women, or Watson is guilty AF. I don't think there is any plausible story here in between that would suggest he flew in a therapist from another city and met her in a hotel seeking a legit massage.

And by failure, I am not indicting Mitch...but everyone involved...from scouting, to development, to coaching, and then, to him.
This fail of the #2 overall pick is systemic from top-to-bottom for Bears. And for their awesome performance here, the fans are now treated to the Foles/Dalton show.

Kyle Fuller released by Bears.
So, they downgrade the QB and downgrade the D.

Yum - seems like Mariota could be a possibility for either the Bears or the Pats. Raiders are apparently looking for him to take a pay cut and I'm reading he is resistant to do so. He could be looking for a job in the near future...............
