Kelce and Hill already locked up for 2+ seasons. Watkins has 1 more year left but he already talked about leaving football and take a year off...and while he was clutch in playoffs he was a bust in the regular season for the most part, most of the fans and local analysts predict he will not come back next season and we'll just have to eat whatever dead cap space he has. We have Hardman who is almost as fast as Hill and if he develops well, as usulally WRs take some time to develop, then he could easily become Hill 2.0 lining on the other side of Reek.

Chris Jones is the huge FA signing that we'll see what the front office does. He held out of OTAs and I think because of history of overpaying guys that then underperform after their big payday, Jones was not paid and now he likely will command a big salary cap. Our O-line is decent, but could use upgrade. We also need to get a true RB1...though Damien has been very serviceable. Clark and Mathieu all locked up for 2+ seasons, we got some injured guys coming back along with rising corner in Thornhill who was great before going down with an ACL.

If we can get a stud RB and shore up our middle LBs...it's gonna be a great year next year

Either way Mahomes about to get paid big time

You just don't want to see what happened with Baltimore(Flaco), Falcons(Ryan), even Seattle to a point where they basically had to restructure their entire defense. Mahomes is worth every penny but team friendly deals win championships

Those players maybe locked up for the next couple years but if they extend Mahomes this year or next to get $40mill/yr they'll have to look at trading or cutting those players.

True true....and definitely I see what you're saying and this is a huge scare for the entire Chiefs Kingdom and I'm sure the front office wants to keep as many playmakers as possible.

Hell, Rodgers is usually in the conversation for most talented QB and he's on the tail end of his career and he only has 1 SB win. So the window is very short and you never know if you'll ever get back to the SB.

Mahomes did make some comments that he would like to be in KC long time...but many players say that. I doubt Mahomes will take any pay cuts to stay "team friendly."

If Veach stays talented in picking personnel/drafting and then developing guys, we might have longer term success. I wonder if lot of teams are going to copy cat Chiefs with trying to get speed guys in this draft class...I heard lot of WRs for the picking

Looks like TB12 will remain TB12.

Don't we usually start the "off season" thread now?
