Wow he steps up in the pocket in all the videos but one and eludes one sack in one of them. I think 2 of them had giant holes of protection. Clearly he's Michael Vick
You'd need more speed/agility if your line was utter crap.

We aren't. You asked what he doesn't have. He doesn't have speed or agility. He openly admits it. This really isn't that hard to follow if you can show even an iota of objective analysis.
Take my quote from earlier, "With a perfect O-line, highly talented receiving corps, and offensive scheme that highlights a player's strengths, which QB would you choose and why?" 1Louder said Brady gets the job.
However, let's change it to, "With a mediocre O-line, highly talented receiving corps, and offensive scheme that highlights a player's strengths, which QB would you choose and why?" I'm willing to bet Rodgers gets the job.

I think oo7spy was posing the hypothetical in order to frame a discussion. I think it might be an interesting way to talk about QBs. We go in circles because if someone wants to say QB X was the greatest someone will say "only because they had A, B and C". Well let's fix A, B and C as constants and see which QB you'd want or might be the "greatest" in that scenario.
A) Perfect O-line, perfect receivers, perfect scheme.
B) Bad O-line, perfect receivers, perfect scheme.
C) Perfect O-line, bad receivers, perfect scheme.
D) Perfect O-line, perfect receivers, bad scheme.
I think if you wanted to argue the "Best" QB to have in those situations, the names change. Without giving it tons of analysis, my list might be A) Brady, B) Rodgers, C) Vick (healthy and in prime), D) maybe Farve (he improvised half the time anyway :-)

C) would be next because a great QB can make his receivers look better than they really are. And you'll usually see the greats stay with the same team for most of their career... hmm. You could even say Brady at C

^ True - my logic for Vick (mobility) was if your receivers are bad, you are running more. But your point about Brady is a good one - an accurate QB can make bad receivers better.
I picked Favre for D because to me he was always improvising and would just gun it down the field.

The greatest Q.B. lists just won`t stop. John Clayton puts Tom Brady at #1. Three Packer QB`s in the top 12 is nice.
Here is his reasoning:
The rankings:
Greatest quarterbacks of all time ranking - John Clayton picks Tom Brady of New England Patriots as best NFL QB ever
Here is his reasoning:
That win made him 4-2 in Super Bowls. Brady, Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw are the only quarterbacks to win four Super Bowl titles. Though Montana and Bradshaw both went undefeated in Super Bowls, I'm still giving Brady the No. 1 spot.

Holy moly dude thats the whole point. Its not about speed, its about your mobility as a QB to make plays. Doesnt matter if you do it looking like a snail or like Vick.
Avoid the rush and generating plays. Thats it

So what makes him better if they can do the same thing? Better receivers, better defense, better coaching, cheat a little here & there?

The passing competition was interesting to watch. Nice to see they are mixing it up in the Pro Bowl
The last memorable thing I remember in a Pro Bowl game was Sean Taylor (RIP) obliterating punter Brian Moorman, who got right back up. And I didn't even watch that game. I think Moorman was the fastest in the 40yd dash too

So, uh, this happened.
San Francisco 49ers hire John Lynch as GM, bring back Matt Millen memories

Assuming Shanny doesn't back out at the last minute, they're going to have a first time head coach with only a few years of NFL experience, paired with a GM who has zero front office experience at any level of football. Thank you to the 49ers for making my Browns look like a well run organization, that's no small feat.

I wish I could find it funny. I'm not even mad though. Nothing this front office does truly surprises me anymore. Meh. I'll give it a few years.
What I've learned after almost a decade of being at the bottom of the NFL, then going to the very top and come crashing back down is to have very low expectations, a calmer attitude, and a lot of patience.
Some are painting it as a PR move, as York just makes an ass of himself every time he gets on the podium, which is why he tends to not have many media appearances, especially once the season starts. Same was the case with Baalke. It has resulted in what many - including myself - view as incompetence on behalf of the ownership. Ol' fuckboy Jed is way in over his head trying to run the team and be the face of it, so now Lynch can in the face of the media be the scapegoat if things go south.
But Lynch is intelligent and especially knowledgeable in football, charismatic, and is respected around the league. He literally just hired a vice president of player personnel on his first day on the job - Broncos' Adam Peters. Peters was the Broncos' scouting director. So it shows that people want to work with him, unlike Trent Baalke with his "All Torn-ACL" teams
I'm just hoping Lynch turns out to be more of a John Elway and less of a Matt Millen kind of hire. The difference here is that Millen was known to butt heads with coaches, whereas Shanahan Jr. and Lynch personally know and respect each other. I've been less and less "doom and gloom" about the hire as time goes on and the more I read.
