NFL: 2016 Season News and Discussion Thread

The problem is football is the only sport where players dont play both sides of the ball. So when comes to these what ifs and ranking individual players it becomes a complete disaster because of how much of a team game it actually is. A players success and notoriety is at the mercy of the teams success. And with 30+ players playing a game for one team it makes it even harder
Think of how easy it is to compare players in the NBA. Same 5-8 players on offense & defense. 1 superstar at any position can win you a game every night. Not the case in the NFL

But, in hockey and football, it's more about all the components lining up and how a player fits into it. You know I dislike the Pats...but, they are so freaking successful because that system is truly a benchmark. They know what TYPE of players to get...what players FIT into that system...and above all, have the continuity among the coaching staff to keep it going. Very few teams has this...So, back to your QB question for Chicago? Until the Bears stick to a regime and have some continuity from the top, the team will continue to be in flux and be putrid/mediocre.

Well, he's kinda fragile. But, he's got good speed and obviously when he plays is always a downfield threat.

For all sports, it's about the personnel and system...but, in the NBA, it allows for more individualism just because of the way the game is inherently. But, even then, if you take a player from a pick-and-roll system to say, the triangle? Unless they are a generational uber-talent like a Kobe or whatever, it's going to show in the stats.

Now, they need to re-sign Collins and Pryor...

1 blowout for sure next week... pats texans. lol what a joke. Rest of the games should be great. Was really hoping to see the Giants go further than this. A-rod is on fire

It didn't look like a concussion, I've had several of them, but he definitely didn't appear to go through much protocol. They talked to him for 30 seconds and let him go back in the game. The dude had just laid there for several minutes unable to gather himself. I was guessing that he got the wind knocked out of him based on the contact area, but he should have stayed out longer than 1 play

Hail Mary! I think the pack are 3 for 3 while the rest of the league is 6 for 32!!! Some of the play calling was absolutely horrible... Hopefully we start hotter than 7 yds total in the first quarter next week against the cowgirls! I feel this will be a Seattle/Packers Championship rematch! Rodgers is playing lights out right now! Hopefully Jordy has bruised ribs, but what a cheap shot by that giants defender...
