The economic engine that drives internet revenue are web site hits and using sponsor links. It creates a breeding ground for stupid brain-dead stories where the only purpose in life is to get people to click on a link, if nothing more than to see if someone would actually publish something THAT stupid. They get what they want the minute the link gets clicked on. The content and merit of the story are irrelevant.

Back to the pretend real-world of fantasy football. How in the world did I fail in such an epic way that my QB choices for this week are Cousins, Fitzpatrick, and Austin Davis? And I'm actually leaning toward Fitzpatrick because Cousins and a rested Seattle defense give me no confidence. The other choices on the wire are actually worse. Smith, Carr, Hoyer, Locker....

RGIII. But a few notes so don't look like a complete idiot.
1) My league drafts QBs insanely early. Usually six or seven in the first two rounds. A few of them (Luck, Cutler, Foles) were already kept (keeper league).
2) I drafted 12th, knew I would not get elite, and opted to draft a QB much later (round 5 was the target). I was able to keep DeMarco Murray and Le'Veon Bell, so getting a mediocre QB was always the plan.
3) There was bizarre run on QBs - some players took 2 in the first five rounds. By the time I picked, I think 14 or so were already off the board. Best available in round 6 was RGIII. He was a hope and a prayer. Locker, my other hope and prayer, was round 12 pick.
No one wants to trade with me either, mostly because no one wants to give me a decent QB while I'm carrying the top two RBs. Vindictive bastards.

So far I got lucky taking Rivers and Romo in the 13th and 14th rounds. But I'm in a 10 team league. On the flipside I'm in a 12 team where QB can the flex so everyone has 2 good QB's. I went Brees #8 overall and Colin K like in the middle rounds so I know what you mean about supply/demand.

My roommate bet me $50 this year that the saints were going to win the super bowl, and since they've been losing early I've been asking for my money early. He told me if the Saints lose to the bucs I'll pay you early cause the season is over, I almost got my money...

Thank you Russell Wilson for validating (once again) my decision to wait on a QB in the draft. I needed about 32 points to win last night between him and P Harvin, and he did it with ease. Fortunately, even though all three of Harvin's TD's got called back...I still won both of my games and high score! That's now 2 out of 5 weeks that I was the top dog, winning back $100 of my $200 entry fee.
The bad news is all six of my RB's managed to combine for @ 25 points. That's an area I really need improvement in.
I'm also pissed I went against my better judgement and drafted J Graham over J Thomas. I had a strong feeling the latter would be the best TE in football this year but did my best to not be a homer. I really didn't think Graham would be available in early second round but when he was I called an audible.

I chose Graham as well in the late 1st round and fortunately still got D. Murray. I don't know if Graham got paid or the injuries but yeah he is down. Orange Julius is great but the doubt you had may be validated if OJ gets hurt plus with Thomas and Welker back and Sanders already good with Peyton, OJ should have some famine games. NO just is down so hopefully with the bye Brees and Graham can get back to their scoring ways.

My hero of the week was Austin Davis Although as it turns out Cousins would not have been all that bad. Of course I wanted the Hawks to win but I was encouraged that he had moments of solid play against a very good defense.
But I really annoyed my league by playing Davis and winning. Managed 2nd high score this week thanks in part to the Eagles Def. Got a bit lucky on both counts but I'll take it.

My buddy is sitting in the corner of the end zone where Cruz went down. He said you could hear him screaming from multiple rows up.
You don't want to see someone that talented go down like that.
Just heard...torn patella tendon. Damn

Dolphins/Packers. That's so Dolphins Why I'm not a fan of new GM's keeping the previous regime's coaches when it's not the new GM's choice. You bring in a new GM, you start anew. Philbin is not someone to keep.
