Butler out 3-6 weeks. Bulls are going to barely make it into the playoffs. No Rose, no Butler, and no Taj? Holy crap.

Is it because i never noticed or there are a LOT more injuries in recent years than in the 2000s.

Well plenty of German doctor steroids....
But there are def more injuries. Players don't take any time off. Playing in summer league...outside.
All about the Benjamins...

Right
But when I was a kid, players would get fat in summer and use training camp to get back in shape.
These days players are in shape year round. It isn't a Sept-June sport anymore.
So I htink there is much more physicial pressure on players.
As someone who is in medicine, I can tell you, we deal with cutting edge techonology (NICU). A kid that didn't survive 15 years ago, today survives in our care.
So to see medicine advance, YET players have more injuries....doesn't really add up.
They are lot harder on their bodies today than Magic, Bird, and Isiah was back in the day

I don't think offseason conditioning is the same as hard pickup games in the summer. From what I've read and seen, players lean more towards conditioning training and drills as well as weight lifting all while supervised by team trainers and physicians. Not sure if this conditioning in the offseason is causing more injuries. The team staff is definitely aware of the need for recovery. If anything being stronger and more athletic with more running/jumping explosion could wear on the knees. Ask Wade and Rose. Major injuries were fairly common in the old days too. Bernard King, Danny Manning, Fat Lever, Brad Daughtery, Bob McAdoo, Bird were some after a search. I think with the Sportscenter coverage and internet injuries are shoved down our throats a little harder.

Could be true. Though Gary Viti is popular here in LA, I don't subcribe to the theory that trainers on teams have the best interst of the players at heart.

Anyone see the Christian Laettner 30 for 30? I saw the first hour but missed the end. Pretty cool seeing those old Duke teams everyone hated. Never knew him and Hurley were middle class dudes while everyone thought they were rich boys. Apparently the only one on that team that had family money was Grant Hill.

Niko of the Bulls is going to be something if he keeps improving. Not saying he's the next Dirk but man, he sure reminds me of Dirk sometimes...
