What an absolute disgrace...Why does he even bother to continue.

The :ghey: thing was how he refused to sign the ball for that fan who caught it...We need more athletes and role-models like this.

That's awesome that the Philly fans did that.

So is my Bonds rookie card going to be worth more now or what?

Bonds is taking most of the attention right now for cheating...but, you are right. Sosa and McGuire do deserve the same type of ridicule. And I know that when their names come up for HoF votes, they will get very few if any votes...

I think this whole Bonds thing is out of control, steriods I would say only enhanced his game 20%. His natural talent has and always will be there and I think deserves to beat Ruth. He has gone through alot, more than any normal person would have gone through on his quest for Ruth. Even on the show Quite Frankly, Mike Schmidt stated he took speed during the 80's to keep his energy up. Most professional baseball players at some point in time have taken something to enhance their game, it's pretty hard to stay on top of your game for 162+ games a season. I think Bonds should hit 720 homers and retire, it's becoming a shame watching him limp to first base all game.

That's a pretty bullshit argument. By your logic then 20% of his homers shouldn't count. Works for me.

He's a fucking scumbag cheater who has been outed. Is that fallout the awful stuff he has to deal with? Please.

Has the guy ever tested positive for any performance-enhancing drugs?

Has the guy ever been suspended by the league for violating a substance abuse policy?

People need to back the fuck off. He's just being the guy used as an example because there is no one else (that was a big part of the steroid controversy) left active in the league to point a finger at.

Same thing with every year how Lance gets scrutinized by every form of media about how he's got to be doping to succeed as much as he does.

Here's my stupid opinion

If you can't actually pull hard evidence that states a person is guilty (and I'm not talking about people that are being pushed around by prosecutors in other people's trials for cooperation), for the lack of a better phrase, shit or get off the pot. This nonsense about pointing fingers because you have nothing better to report in the world of sport is getting annoying. The media has been trying to get people to get stirred up with this whole steroid mess and can't seem to get off Barry's back. Because of this, his brilliant career is being put to shame. People are so judgemental even if there is nothing to convict the player for that it may keep him out of Cooperstown. Hell, Selig has even stated that the league is going ot do nothing to recognize Barry passing Ruth. That's bullshit. Unless he's been convicted of something wrong, failed a test, or admitted wrong-doing, let the guy enjoy the accomplishment and reward him for the feat.

There, I've said it.

Um. Baseball and the media needs a scapegoat and BB is PERFECT ... I think most people do not question his ability and physical gifts but when they integrate his personality/arrogance (let alone, his "supposed" steroid use) into the equation, BB becomes an object to loathe.

BB has always been the one to turn his back or say "F you" to the fans and media and he's getting those sentiments right back. He is a tragic character ... father dead, no real fan support, no friends, tenuous relationship with wife/family, etc. What the hell does he do post-baseball? But for the most part, it's hard to feel sorry for him because he made his bed and has to lay on it.

People still gave Clemens props when he passed Carlton, Seaver, etc on the all-time K list. Mind you, Clemens is #2 on that list.

You are kidding right? Please just compare Bonds pre-monster-hitting-HR player to the Bonds now. Just looking at his physical changes over a blink of an eye should be an indication to anyone. There is no way a grandpa his age can hit that well and that hard...period.

And you know that MLB's testing process prior to now and even up to now is second-rate. Also, there is no way to test for human-growth hormone...

They've got special balls made for barry's pursuit of ruth. They've only said that they're not going to celebrate it with any sort of formal celebration in the middle of the game.

I think what Kurt is trying to say is that Barry hasn't been found guilty of anything, and he's still hitting home runs. I'm sure MLB has been testing him since day one. Did you see #713?? He CRUSHED it!! I think you can test for human-growth if you draw blood, but I may be wrong
