One thing is a given: Tortorella will whine and complain and blame everyone but himself and his team. ...and will end up looking like a jackass.

1990-1991 through 1997-1998 pens finished 1st or 2nd in division, or won the cup. how is that not dominating?

they sucked from 1999-2006 then got good again.

We got our tickets in 98, those were fun years to have season tickets, like 2000 people in the stands

Hallmarks of a true fan...even stuck with them during the dark years.

Still, your Pens are IMO freaking fortunate and lucky. To have so many great players in such a "short" span is unheard of really.

The Leafs fans would be giggling for years if they had a Malkin/Crosby equivalent.

Two so far. Three if you count this year but they have not picked anyone yet. And Nuge and Hall are NOT Malkin and Crosby. Not even close.

And they honestly have selected poorly. Did not draft based on need...rather, what was best available. So, hence, you have their uneven lineup.

Put this way, Rounder...no team in the League has been as fortunate as your Pens in opportune drafting.

Clearly with the draft lottery last night, the NHL has shown that they really do hate the Leafs.

Way to go NHL.....might as well fold-up the Blue Jackets franchise too.

You gotta be smoking some seriously awesome herb if you think Hall & Nugent are anywhere near the caliber of Malkin and Crosby.

The Pens were given......errrrrr......had great luck in selecting those two.

Not even in the ballpark.

Edmonton was not given......errrr.....did not have the fortunate luck of getting to pick the players that are the caliber of Malkin / Crosby.

The teams are not similar at all in this fashion.

Both were given......errrr.....got good luck, but one was given better gifts.....errrrr had MUCH better luck.

Twins minus 1 tonight:

VIGNEAULT: ”There’s nothing new to report. He’s not going to play tonight.”

The Canucks are expected to skate with Mason Raymond on the first line, alongside Henrik Sedin.

VIGNEAULT: ”It is what it is. We’ve never talked about elements that we don’t have in our lineup. We’ve always played with the guys that are healthy and capable of helping this team. That line is going to have to find a way to do what they do. If we put Mason with Hank, it’s because I expect offensive production from that line. Hank has always been (on) one of our offensive lines, and I don’t see that changing tonight.”

Again, not as opportune in timing as your team. Toews is an amazing player but is not comparable to Crosby. Kane is the same...not the same tier.

Hawks were lucky too...but, no way were they given gifts. Toews was a contested pick internally in Chicago. They were VERY close to drafting Kessel instead at #3 in 2006.

When the Pens drafted their franchise-changers, they were no-doubt picks.

We're talking about a Sedin, that's true regardless of any injuries.

With 2 regular seasons in the books who do you think got a better player Edmonton with Hall or the Bruins with Seguin? Not putting Seguin in the Crosby, Malkin class either (yet) but I think the B's got a better player at #2 that Edmonton at #1.

remind me again how many cups the caps have?

and winning two cups and having the best team in 1993 where we should have 3-peat isn't dominance??

yes pens sucked in the 2000s but every team goes up and down. we are on another up-swing.

and case in point why malkin is better than ovy...malkin carried the team when crosby was out...you didn't see ovy carry the team when backstrom was out.
Did I say one fucking thing about Malkin not being better/being better. Jesus fucking Christ, how's about a talk about what is truthfully happening. You sound like leedog in R&P.

Don't care about an upswing now, was talking about a certain period of time. You are about the most buttplugged person I know when it comes to a team, you can't take one bit of naysay, even when someone if naysaying about a team you root for.

And you call Milbury and Cherry bums. They piss more about hockey than you'll ever now.

I was one that kept saying Edmonton should've drafted Seguin. They need help down the middle badly. And Seguin has the size and skillsets the team needed...

And yeah, I think the Bruins picked the better player. While Hall is exciting, I like Seguin's upside more.

Seguin's pretty damn exciting as well and so far has been much more durable. B's fans couldn't ask for more from him, he did just lead the team in scoring in his sophomore year.

Wings absolutely MUST steal a game in Nashtucky before coming back home in this series to have a chance at advancing. Preds were the most aggressive team at the deadline, they are deep, big and obviously have a stellar goaltender.

Still pissed that the league allowed Radulov to ride the gravy train to the NHL so late in the year and the rumor is he could easily take the return trip back to Russia next season so I hear.

Fibs...you know I would love nothing more than to see a meteor crash into Joe Louis and take your team with it...but, in this case, I am actually rooting for your team.

And hopefully, if my team can get past the Yotes, an eventual match-up in the playoffs between the Hawks and your Things. Every game this year they've played together has been a fast-paced thriller and I expect a 7-game tilt would not disappoint.

So, yeah...hope your team vanquishes the Preds. Cuz, if those guys advance, get ready for some Devils-esque trap-style hockey.

The count was in attendance tonight in Nashtucky, I fully blame him for the ticky/tack penalty awards to the home team. If he shows up for game two, its officially a conspiracy.
