Talk about teams that shouldn't be, the Phoenix Coyotes are at the top of my list, seeing cactuses outside of an ice rink is just ridiculous to me

Boston needs to move its up way up on the list...Boston sucks as far as fans go, when they don't win nobody shows up at the game but now that they are winning all of a sudden everybody goes. I mean its a good thing but you know what I mean

Last I read:

Brendan Shanahan-W- Rangers Nov. 15 -

The Flyers still have not heard back from Rick Curran, the agent for Brendan Shanahan, regarding their offer to the veteran winger.
Philly has made a contract offer to the gritty forward but it seems obvious that Shanahan is also weighing other offers.

I haven't heard anything new. He'll definitely play. If it's for the Flyers, he's a viable fantasy player.

Be happy you can go if you want to. Most of our friends in Toronto can't get into a Leafs game to save their lives. And if they do they're sitting in row after row of business suits.

Ticket prices are outrageous. At the same time, I wouldn't have paid anything to watch the team they have been putting on the ice over the past few years.

For shame! Didn't they turn the Montreal Forum into a shopping mall too?

FTL....These places are like shrines....why not move the Hall of Fame to the old Garden

You're right. Although the atmosphere at some of the games can be appalling when all you see is the yellow/black and green seats

Yes the old Forum in Montreal has been turned into an mall.

Moving the HHOF to the Gardens would be a good way to preserve the building in a hockey capacity. I think they're happy with their current location though. Also, I think that when MLSE sold the Gardens, they had a stipulation that they would not sell it to anyone who would create competition for the ACC.

I work just around the corner from the Gardens the building is in rough shape. Its a shame considering the history.

I haven't been in a few years but I used to date a girl who worked there so she would get me in.

A lot of history. Some really cool exhibits. Things that stand out to me are a recreation of the Montreal Canadiens dressing room in the old Forum, displays of old equipment (my favorite is all the old goalie masks), and the grand hall where they keep all of the awards/trophy's and obviously the Stanley Cup. They also have a lot of interactive exhibits. You can shoot pucks at targets, play goalie, watch movies, call your own play-by-play on historic games, etc. Something to definitely check out for any hockey fan is you're ever in TO.

I went to the HOF back in the early 90's (the old Exhibition Place location) before the moved it to it's current location.

For a big hockey fan like myself, I enjoyed it very much.....but if you were not a hockey fan, the place was GHETTO!!!!

I know the new location is much better....next time I'm back in Toronto, I will have to check it out again.

Shootout Stipulation

I was just watching TSN and they were talking about the shootout in the Ottawa Senators vs New York Rangers game last night. If anyone didn't see it one of the shooters, Jarko Rutuu was stopped on his first shot and then fired the rebound back on net that Lundqvist stopped. TSN went on to say that according to the NHL rulebook that the goal would have counted if he had scored on the rebound. According to the rule, in the shootout the puck is live until it comes to a complete stop or it crosses the goal line.

Anyone ever heard of this? This is new news to me.

When that clown Roenick was on the Kings, he sorta crashed the net on his rebound on a shoot-out....it counted....despite what the color commentator Jim Fox says at the end. It counted and the Kings won....this was a couple of years ago too.

I guess the shoot-out rule differs from the penalty shot?

^ That should be no goal. You shouldn't be allowed to crash into the goalie to score in a shootout or penalty shot.

The Ruttu play was a little different. Here's a link to the shootout. I couldn't find just his shot so here is the whole shootout. Ruttu shoots at 1:45. No way if he put that in should it have counted.

Edit: After watching the replay he fanned on the first attempt and never got a shot off. I guess it does make sense then.

I guess the fanned shot doesn't count...& thus the "rebound" attempt was the first actual shot.

I was actually hoping the B's - Sabres game would be a high scoring affair with the Bruins winning of course.

Jonesi, I think you should put a cap on the maximum moves a team can make. I understand that everyone wants to make their team as good as possible but adding and dropping players just to get more man games in is gay. Look at the match up last week between The Five Holes and dominator. Its getting ridiculous.

I'm not sure on his intent.. His cousin just passed away and I haven't spoken to him about Fantasy Hockey but I'll bring it up this weekend.

Ok so the trade....

Super Robots
Alex Goligoski
Sergei Zubov
Marty Turco

Evader
Andrei Markov
Evgeni Nabokov

I'd like to hear about the reasoning behind it in order to make a better judgement.

I hate seeing someone give up their Best Goalie and Best Dman in a trade.

I don't see it either...Super Robots is getting one hell of a deal here, Nabokov the goalie of one of the NHL's best teams add to that Markov who is the quarterback of a very potent Montreal PP.

Maybe Im missing something

Plus Whitney will be back soon and the acquisition of Boucher will really limit/decrease Goligoski's fantasy value.
