Like hell is right. Who else in their right mind would give Mcabe this contract?
Oh well, should be fun explaining to my son in a couple of years why he won't ever see a Stanley Cup in Toronto in his lifetime.

ive never really understood buffalo's obsession with putting an actual buffalo as their logo. their team name is the SABRES. buffalo is the damn town theyre from, i just dont understand that. i guess their argument would be that a picture of just a sabre isnt all that exciting, but still...
and those logos all suck haha, the 3rd is decent but damn. now i hope they put them on the jerseys so all the players will look ridiculous... almost as bad as the stars 3rd jersey.

Well, Luongo's reportedly close to signing a deal with the Canucks...

He's probly the best conditioned athlete in the league. But his presence alone would make me go out and get him.
Roberto Luongo signs with the Canucks

It would also be interesting to see how the Pronger rumours play out. Apparently Florida is very keen on acquiring Pronger. If that happens, I'd think that Jovo would be out of Florida's picture.

The Ottawa Senators have locked up one of their elite blueliners, as sources tell TSN the team has signed defenceman Wade Redden to a two-year contract.
Speculation is that the deal is worth $13 million. The team is expected to make a formal announcement over the next 24 hours.

Mike Lange, longtime voice of the Pittsburgh Penguins, has been let go after 30 years of working as the team's play-by-play announcer.
He will be replaced by radio play-by-play man Paul Steigerwald.
Lange was worked for the Penguins hockey radio and television network since 1975. In 2001, he received the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award for his outstanding work as a broadcaster.
Lange is best known for his colorful expressions during Penguins games that are picked up by sports news and highlight shows across the continent, which include:
- "I'll be cow-kicked!"
- "Oh no, Eddie Spaghetti!"
- "Heeeeeeeeeeeee shoots and scores!"
- "Scratch my back with a hacksaw!"
- "Well shave my face with a rusty razor!"
- "Great balls of fire!"
- "He was hit so hard his kids will be born dizzy"
- "He left the defensemen on the parkway going to the airport!"
- "You would have to be here to believe it!"
- "Look out Loretta!"
- "Buy Sam a drink and get his dog one too!"
- "He doesn't know whether to cry or wind his watch"
- "Michael, Michael, Motorcycle"
- "Get in the fast lane Grandma, the bingo game's ready to roll!"
- "She wants to sell my monkey!"
- "Call Arnold Slick from Turtle Creek!"
- "He beat him like a rented mule!"
- "Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has just left the building!"
- "Book 'em Dano!"
- "He Picked His Pocket Like He was Walking down 5th Avenue"
- "Smilin' like a butcher's dog"
- "He takes the heat out of a hot kitchen"
- "How much fried chicken can you eat?"
- "Oh slap me silly Sidney!"
- "Get that dog off my lawn!"
- "And the kitchen is closed!"
- "He smoked him like a bad cigar!"

Mike was awesome and is the voice of the Penguins IMO..
Hopefully he will be announcing on the radio..
From what I understand they just had differences (Mike and Fox Sports Pittsburgh)
^^ thats too bad about him being let go.
However on another note, I went to the Sox game with one of my buddies tonight...we sat next to Patrice Bergeron on the T to Fenway. He was with his brother and some other friends, what a cool guy and great hockey player. However, it just shows how Boston's not a hockey town anymore...we walked near him all the way to Fenway and not one person turned around or said "hey thats Bergeron!"

I'm saying it again so you can all let it sink into your heads.
We will never likely get confirmation on this story as to why, but I'm telling you right now what the reason is.
PRONGER GOT A GIRL PREGNANT, and his wife did indeed demand that they leave the city.
It all makes sense, and it's absurd to even think that it's all because Lauren Pronger simply didn't want to live in Edmonton for 4 years.
This is one of those stories that will never be made public, but it will float around and I believe it considering my sources who work at Rexall Place and know the Players and the goings on.
Whether you choose to believe it or not, that's up to you.
But think about it for a while?
Starting to make sense isn't it?
This stuff happens all the time, and is not made public to protect the integrity of the game, and the players. But it happens a whole lot more often then we ever hear about.
Corson and Mogilny's wife? Happened, and locally confirmed in Toronto, but not made Public.
Doug Gilmour sleeping with his underage babysitter in St. Louis. Got him traded out of St.Louis to Calgary to kill the story. The Blues certainly didn't want to trade him at the time.
Gary Leeman (and someone else) sleeping with Al IaFrate's wife. Happened, and they all 3 got traded because of the obvious division in the lockerroom.
Patrick Roy sleeping with a Stripper in plain view on a pool table of a strip bar in Montreal at a Habs Stanley Cup celebration party. His teammate told his wife, and his wife slept with his teammate to get revenge.
Remember his last night in net for the Habs?
That's the day he found out.
Kind of explains the shaky game he played that night doesn't it? And the Coach left him in the net as a punishment because he and the player who nailed his wife were fist fighting in the locker room before the game and during intermissions.
Mark Messier was arrested on Jasper Avenue in the Oiler's hayday, getting exactly what Hugh Grant was getting from Divine Brown, and they covered it up because he was Mark Messier.
Danny Markov was traded out of Toronto because he was an insatiable Cocaine Pig. No other reason.
The List Goes on... and any other great stories you may have would be welcomed in return.
Remember, it's up to you what you choose to believe, but believe me,
CHRIS PRONGER GOT A GIRL PREGNANT AND HIS WIFE WANTS OUT OF THE CITY BECAUSE OF IT.
As for the compensation they'll get for the trade, I have all the faith that Kevin Lowe will do more than the right thing, and the Oilers will be right back where they were. Surefire playoff contenders, with all the heart in the NHL on one amazing roster.
