I wish I could have cought this thread earlier, but the story of the game was Kentucky not being able to hit their free throws, and more importantly their inability to knock down hardly any three's (3 of 22 beyond the arch). Other than that, it ended up being a really good game last night, comming down to one shot. UK's D kept 'um in the game, but thier inability to hit thier three's or free throws made them come up short.

Needless to say I was really last night, mostly because UK was so close, we could all feel it. At least now they play Tennessee on Tues., that should help build up their confidence again.

Yes, if UK could've made a few of those 3s, it would've been a different scenario.... I thought it was going to be a blow out after the first 15 minutes... but, it was a really good game.

Had to take the ol' lady out last night and didn't get to watch any of this game

Needless to say I was not happy that I missed such a good game.

i hope ku gets to play florida again in march madness somewhere, then florida will be in trouble for sure. im pretty sure i know what you would say in response to that, but ill just wait for it. i know youre obv a big gators bball fan, but starting multiple threads about them isnt really necessary at this point. sure, reg season wins help build your tourney resume, but they mean nothing once youve gotten your seed. (as my jayhawks have experienced last 2 years)

just wait for march and then see if you will be able to brag about your gators some more, as march is all that really matters anyways. ppl know theyre a good team, but last year's tourney was quite crazy, so lets see if they can make a point this year with more major contenders.

nothing like some good college bball competitive spirit

^^They are defending champions and the only unbeaten in the SEC.. (5-0 on the road in the SEC). They also handled Ohio State really well.. (86-60). I know what you are saying about the tourney though. That is why I like College Football > College Basketball. The regular season doesn't mean much except seeding for basketball. We'll see how far Florida goes, but I'm predicting at least Final Four, perhaps another championship. I think with the talent they have they should at least make it to the Final Four if they play to their potential.

Kentucky had been shooting about 40% behind the arc - that game they were 1 for 19 up until two minutes remaining and it wasn't because the gators were playing outstanding defense and contesting every shot. UK just stunk it up.
Florida is good, but I don't think they'll win it again. Not good enough - needing overmatched teams to choke in order to escape with a win isn't a resume builder in my opinion.

^^^Exactly. UK has averaged at least 6 three-pointers in a game all season, and Saturday they had half of that and 2/3 were in the last minute. It was really frustrating to know that whenever Kentucky pulled up to take a three that it was going to be either long or short. And like I said earlies, IF Kentucky had made thier three's then it would have (probably) been a different game.

Oh well, I'm done. It's over now. Moving on...

Kentucky is an interesting team. No wins against any Top 25 teams this year, yet they're ranked #18. They played a tough schedule but lost all the tough games; although they don't ever get blown out. Their close loss to Florida probably sealed a NCAA berth, but a lot of people are calling for Tubby's head.

UK has just been way too inconsistent all year. Bradley has really stepped up, but at the same time Crawford has been sleep walking.

I think once we get rid of a few retards like Lukasz Obrzut and Sheray Thomas and get some of the younger guys playing more we'll be in good shape...

Something will happen to Tubby in the near future. Once the boosters want you gone, it's over...

Nice loss tonight to Tennessee

I love how Tubby thought Chris Lofton wasn't good enough to even offer him a scholarship. Dumped 23 on us tonight....

He's also torn us up in the past and I'm sure it will continue into the future.

How loud was it at 22-4? If Florida plays a poor half in the NCAA's they might not recover. And watch out, Nashville is a rattlesnake trap.

Florida is good, maybe Final Four good, but not national champion good.

Shit, my team can't beat Texas Tech to save their lives. I sure hope we wind up in different brackets (or, even better, Tech doesn't make it ).

LSU takes them by 10 without Big Baby? Come on. All the studio guys say they still have a #1 seed locked up.

Damn, that was a horrible game to watch.

Florida will still be a #1 seed based on the selection commitee... it isn't based on records or anything, they basically pick who will be seeded where.

Florida will still be in the final 4.

Anyone gonna watch the Ohio State - Wisconsin game ?? I am pulling for wisconsin.

Yeah, got to pull for Wisconsin. Got to love the way Bo Ryan wins with a bunch of guys that look like they work at a meat-packing plant.

Game isn't over yet, but again - Florida is not a Final Four caliber team. I don't know what funk they stepped in recently, but they picked the wrong time to go to crap.

They might make it, but that will be based more on favorable matchups (read as lower caliber teams upsetting the favorites before Florida has to play them) than on skill. In other words, luck.

For the record, I think Noah is a stand up/decent guy. Looks kinda funny to me, but I've never heard of him getting into academic or legal trouble. I just don't think they are as good as they were billed.

haha yea i am watchin the game as well and must say, they look like they just dont care at times... weird.

long ways to go in the game still but 20+ pt lead, and home court, and actually playing like they care = vols hold off for the win

ku moves into a tourney #1 seed assuming they beat texas this saturday.

Most pundits I hear say the four #1's are UCLA, N.C., Ohio St, and........Florida! They could lose by 40 their next two games and still be a #1

Jesus Fucking Christ.... they look like they've forgotten how to play defense, and can't make a 3 pointer to save their lives....

I've gotta give it to Tennessee though, they gave Florida an ass whooping, hands down...

that being said... Florida lost 3 in a row heading into March madness last year. This team is built for the tourny, they are experienced... and Billy D won't let them slip up come time.

#1 seed FTW.

In response to Floridas recent play, I think all further College Basketball posts should be moved here: https://acurazine.com/forums/sports-talk-fantasy-leagues-38/jayhawks-putting-clinic-359186/ cuz the only clinic the gators are putting on is a free clinic on pre tourney choking.

Maybe these recent losses will wake them up b4 the tourney starts. I hope they dont get a 1 seed in the tourney, cuz Kansas is due a 1 seed... no more of this 4and5 seeded starts. I want to face a 15 or 16 seed first round. Anything less has spelled disaster for us these last few years.
