I renewed the league from last year:

I set the draft date, but it can be changed to accommodate the best for everyone.

Last year we did $25, and I'm fine with that again.

I can also add/change some scoring settings to make it a little different, and if we get more teams we should change the roster settings a bit.


We should really try to get 10 or 12 teams, because 8 is a little light for baseball.

The $25 will be due BEFORE the draft, as I hate hunting down people after their team starts out crappy. We also can discuss if we want to make this a keeper league, since its on its 3rd year now with alot of the same players.

If there are any lurkers out there that are hesistant to join because they havent done fantasy baseball before, dont be afraid to ask some questions and join. Its really fun, and you'll end up learning a ton about the game and other teams/players you only see once in awhile on that 4 letter network. This is a very easy and standard format, so its great to get your feet wet on.

...can you explain more like how many pitchers(what their stats count towards), hitters and prize money?

We use yahoo. Its real easy for rookies but still has a ton of customization possible.

Here's the settings:

Its 6x6 scoring, with the standard 5x5 plus strikeouts for batters and losses for pitchers. I added the additional stats in last year to help separate the top tier guys from the Adam Dunns of the world. Its a head-to-head league, with 4 teams making the playoffs (no byes). If we get 10 teams we'd probably go to 6 playoff teams with 2 byes.

Here's the roster spots, currently:

C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, OF, Util, Util, SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, P, P, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL, DL

Again, I added an additional OF & Util because we had only 8 teams, but I'd REALLY like to get 10 teams and go back to the standard 3 OF and 1 Util slot.

Payouts last year were:

1st - $125; 2nd - $50; 3rd - $25

if we could get 10 teams then the payouts would be:

1st - $150; 2nd - $75 ; 3rd - $25

Again, all of the settings are what I have suggested, but anything can be voted on and changed if the majority want it.

Here are the specific scoring categories:

Batters Stat Categories: Runs (R), Home Runs (HR), Runs Batted In (RBI), Stolen Bases (SB), Strikeouts (K), Batting Average (AVG)

Pitchers Stat Categories: Wins (W), Losses (L), Saves (SV), Strikeouts (K), Earned Run Average (ERA), (Walks + Hits)/ Innings Pitched (WHIP)

any chance we can use Holds instead of Losses for pitches?

I'm fine with it if it gets a majority vote. I'll post a poll on the league page.

I also changed it to a max moves per week of 4, as last year most people didnt like no max moves per week.

We struggled to get 8 teams last year, the league was kinda dead, and me personally already have 2 other long-running teams to manage. If someone else wants to take over commish duties please feel free to pm me your email and I will send the commish status to you.

If you guys do get it going again I hope it goes well, fantasy baseball is a helluva lot of fun.
