Fado's downtown is charging a 20 dollar cover to watch the game, or 170 for the entire euro 04!!!
Can't afford it, just watch the highlights and scores on Sky Sports News on Fox Sports World.

So you can't watch because your working or because its not televised?

We get all the games up here on TSN. (The Sports Network). Probly because we care more about Soccer as we have more european culture.

domn, who's dad is probly yelling and screaming as a result of the 0-0 tie.

yea, I can order it on pay per view from the cable provider, but it's like 200 bucks. Plus, I'm at work during the games, so it's not worth it.

game is done, 5-0 swedes...
I don't know, the swedes have a good attacking midfield, I wouldn't put it past them to get by a sluggish Italian bunch... but Buffon is so good, I think a drubbing like this won't be in Italy's cards.

As long as Italy beats Sweden and does'nt lose or tie another they win the group. Depending on what the Swedes does of course.

5-0 though WOW. How bad is Bulgaria?

English soccer gans are idiots. Sorry to any English out there but for christ sake, stop the rioting over a sport.

We've been 37 years without a Stanley Cup in Toronto (I was'nt even born when they last won) and you don't see us rioting, although we should be.

The orange get away with this one, from what I'm hearing, it wasn't a pretty game from the dutch.

Still, got away with one... taking down the czechs next this Saturday would do wonders.

Greece-Spain just kicked off...
Spain needs this to go atop the group alone...
Greece can prove the Portugal match was not a fluke.

Can't, working but I'll try and catch the encore later.

domn, who will be watching the Italy game Friday and who is also upset that all Italy's games come on weekdays.

Spain could make some noise in this tourney, and I think it would be about time for Spain.

Totti accused of spitting at Poulsen

Associated Press

6/16/2004

LISBON (AP) - The Danish team lodged an official complaint with UEFA on Wednesday about the alleged misbehaviour of Italy's striker Francesco Totti during their opening game at Euro 2004, a move which could lead to a suspension of the star striker.

The Danish DR TV posted images on its website of Totti spitting at midfielder Christian Poulsen during the 0-0 draw (View the images and the video here). The Danish federation claims the star striker spat at his Danish opponent ``on several occasions.''

UEFA's disciplinary committee said it would look at the video footage and decide whether to open a case.

If Totti is found guilty, he could be fined or even suspended. UEFA spokesman Rob Faulkner said the committee was trying to settle the issue ``as soon as possible.''

The DR pictures showed Totti spitting in Poulsen's face then running off. Totti was booked late in the game for a dangerous tackle on Rene Henriksen.

Italian federation president Franco Carraro said from Rome that the team would not make any comment on the case ``until UEFA has made a decision.''

Sweden is top of Group C after beating Bulgaria 5-0.

I don't know about this. Soccer players tend to have alot of respect for eachother, more so than other sports (ie hockey) so I call BS.

update: portugal up 1-nil, Russians down to 10 men.

I don't think the evidence is sufficient. He could have been spitting at the ground and the angle of the photo made it look as though he was spitting at his opponent.

The referee IMO has to have seen it to make it legit. Unless of course there was more damning video, which there isn't.

Anyone read Danish?

England will kick off for the morning game against the Swiss... let's see how underperforming our English friends are...
Taking a late lunch to watch the France-Croatia setup... haven't seen Zizou play in a while.

Totti gets his three game ban and actually admitted his guilt... an Italian, admitting he was wrong?

There's no talk of appeals to the diciplinary board, which means that he's serving the bans in the tourney, which means he won't play again if they don't make it past the quarterfinals...
I was expecting 2, but 3 seems reasonable for what he admitted to.
