i guess maicon wants to stay at inter.

awesome goal.

arsenal's season is soooo predictable.

right when it looks like they're legitimate contenders for the title, they get way too many season ending injuries and implode at the end. they really need a new GK and 2 more central defenders.

Brazillians.. what can you say

it reminds me of this:

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/HrK4a8WVP88&hl=ko_KR&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/HrK4a8WVP88&hl=ko_KR&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

So Cafu or Maicon?? I'll take Cafu until Maicon wins two world cups

Roberto Carlos for sure!! Maicon is dominating right now both in attack and defense but Marcelo I believe falls shorts in the defense part.

I'd take Andre Santos over Marcelo from what I saw during the 09 Confederations Cup. Haven't watched him play since then though..

marcelo's barely playing LB anyways.

i don't even know who the first choice LB is anymore for brazil. is andre santos? is it still gilberto (not silva)?!

IMO when at full strength, Ashley Cole is one of the top 3 left backs in the world

Ok so Barca vs Inter today. Should be a good game but still I see Barca winning... 3-1?

i'm gonna go with 1-1 draw.

i really do think inter have the players to press barca enough to give them trouble. guardiola even said that when they don't have the ball, they're a horrible team.

that said, i've been downloading a lot of barcelona matches from this season and last. they're really a well-oiled machine. it's beautiful to see the movements from each of the players. they really do let the ball do all the work.

Maybe the bus trip did have an affect on them?

Either way, Inter were the much better team, well deserved victory.

HOWEVER, it aint over yet. Barca are certainly capable of winning the second leg and advancing.

a 2-0 win at home will seal it.

but i can't see mourinho losing this.

he really is a tactical genius. i'll welcome him at old trafford.

"I saw the Barcelona players trying to put pressure on the referee. My only comment was that their players have short memories, but 'my' Chelsea players last season were complaining after an historically bad refereeing performance by Ovrebo.

mourinho's always taking credit for the core players in the chelsea squad. it's kinda awesome.

Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic said after his side's Champions League defeat that Inter defender Marco Materazzi attacked team-mate Mario Balotelli in the players' tunnel.

Ibrahimovic said that he saw what happened after Balotelli had thrown off his jersey in anger and given a middle finger salute to the Inter fans after the final whistle.

"I saw that Materazzi was attacking him in the players' tunnel and I've never seen anything like it," Ibrahimovic told RAI. "If I were him, I'd have left Mario alone, but Materazzi was attacking him and I was stunned. If Materazzi had attacked me like that, I would've decked him in a second!

"Materazzi was causing all sorts of trouble and in the Barcelona locker room we were amazed, all talking about it. A player should be proud after a win, not chase down a 20-year-old to berate him."

Captain Javier Zanetti told Sky Sport Italia: ''Balotelli needs to understand certain things. I am sorry because it kind of ruined this festival with such a gesture. However, we are close to him and we will always support him."

Manager Jose Mourinho also had words for substitute Balotelli after the whistle.

"I have been at Inter since July 2008," he said. "If I try to remember all the times I've tried to educate a great talent, there are thousands and thousands. This is a Champions League semi-final, the second most important tie in club football, and something ugly happened."

Inter CEO Ernesto Paolillo says the club will definitely be taking action against the player over the gesture.

"Balotelli's gesture was terrible. Just terrible," he said. "It is something we are going to have to discuss. Will he be punished? Absolutely, yes."
balotelli is a nutcase. VERy talented. but immature, cocky, selfish, etc.

that said, materazzi's a nutcase too! i can totally see matrix going after balotelli.

i would buy a book of mourinho quotes.

That was the same quote I was talking about. Barca seems to have forgotten how they were favored last year.

Zlatan has a history with Materazzi so I'm not surprised by his comment.
Balotelli needs to goto Manchester and feel the wrath of Ferguson. That should teach him a lesson
Seriously, Moratti is TOO nice. Everyone is saying how unenthusiastic he was on the pitch because he was used as a sub, not a starter.
Balotelli needs to go to a club where he can play regular first team football. I'm sick of hearing about him. He should be benched for the rest of the season, then sold.

Balotelli needs a stern ing. If someone doesn't get his priorities straight, no time might want him for his huge ego and immaturity.

Took 7 days off (still have many to spare) during the World Cup. I basically picked out what I thought would be the days with the best games/games I really want to see, including the quarterfinals and semifinals.

Lots of opportunities in finance in DFW, well, in Houston as well.

If you are in the area during the cup or interviewing we can go to a pub and to watch the game and grab a couple . There is a cool pub called the Londoner (owner is a Chelsea fan )

(and seems like 90% of the finance jobs in houston are energy and oil related, which is expected. unfortunately, i have no experience in that trade.)

Damn this is going to be a tight race for the title. If we beat Liverpool next weekend it has to be in the bag.

Liverpool hasn't been beaten at home for the 2nd half of the season...but then again they don't have Torres now....hopefully it's going to be a good match!

Motta red card: It's just officially gone mental. Thiago Motta gently sticks his right hand in Sergio Busquets's face and the Barca player goes down like he's been shot. Motta, who has already been booked, is shown a straight red card and is fuming. He goes over to Busquets and grabs him by the neck before being dragged away. Jose Mourinho claps the Barca fans, suggesting they might have had something to do with it. You couldn't make this stuff up.
