I was a little sad when I got 2 more negative rep points so I decided to eat 2 buckets of Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey...

When I stated whiners, I was indeed talking about players such as Randall Godfrey who said this after the Redskins Vs. Pats game, "I said something to [Belichick] after the game," Godfrey told NBCSports.com. "I told him, 'You need to show some respect for the game.' You just don't do that. I don't care how bad it is. You're up 35 points and you're still throwing deep? That's no respect."

Madden actually made a good point for once last game, hes been getting a bit better as of late imo. Talking about how Bill beliefs its not the offense's responsibility to shut it down, and that the defense needs to step up and make a few plays.

Seriously, when you're up 5 scores late in the 4th quarter, what's the point? Is it to work out offensive gremlins? I think not. Is it to secure the lead? No, that's already been done. The only logical answer is to run up the score. BB saying, "Well, your defense should stop it if you don't like it" is just fucking stupid.
Hopefully Tom Brady won't be seriously hurt one of these games as he drops back late in the 4th quarter and throws his 5th touchdown pass of the game.
What comes around goes around, and karma is a bitch sometimes.

the pats will get what is coming to them, whether it be the last game of the season or the first playoff game they play. where were all the pat fans during the 4th quarter of last game? they don't even wanna watch them go for it on 4th down when they r up by 5 TDs.

Honestly I don't why people whine about 'running up' the score? If they're a good team and they're competitive they want to play hard for the entire game. From start to finish.
I think it's a cop out when teams stop trying just because they're ahead safely. As a damn competitive person when it comes to sports and almost anything I always want to give 110% (as cliche as that sounds) regardless of what the score is. Giving respect is playing your hardest and beating a team by 30. Not taking it easy after you get a comfortable lead. IMO that would be disrespectful.
Maybe it gets offensive gremlins out, maybe it trains them to play damn hard so when they get in a situation where they're down, or when it's close they can keep going while the other team is getting tired. Who knows.
But bitching about a team cuz they're damn good at what they do is weak. There's always people who bitch about whoever is on top in anything... that's just the way it is.

How can you tell a team that is down by a lot to play 110% even though they know they are going to lose and then tell the same team not to do that if they are up by a lot. Just doesn't make sense to me and people who complain about it are just little pussies. I mean...we're not in elementary school people...these guys aren't going to grow up to have self esteem issues because of this.

I agree about running up the score. I forget where I heard this but its basically the offensive teams job to score and to do everything not to punt the ball. Its the defenses to stop the the team from scoring and if they do a bad job of it that is not the offensive teams fault.
