linker no worker.

Anyway, while i dont believe riding a motorcylcle is a foolish risk to be taking during the offseason, riding without a helmet is. I hope they focus on that instead of the motorcyle in general like the media has in the past.

Yea, they just passed a law about a year ago in PA that you don't have to wear a helmet.

Link is probably getting hammered.. Should've copied and pasted..

HOLY F...........

I think I remember seeing an interview with him talking about riding on ESPN. It was something like "we always ride in packs, so its ok" and "no, I don't wear a helmet". I probably misquoted him, but I think it was something to that affect. I figured this day was coming.

I will never understand the risks taken by these guys.

I'm not a steelers fan, but big ben is an asset to the NFL. Hope he is alright.

Why would a person ride a motorcycle without a helmet...?

Not sure but, I know in some pro-athletes' contracts, they have clauses that prohibits them from participating in what is deemed "dangerous" activities...

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been in a motorcycle accident in Pittsburgh this morning.

Witnesses told authorities that the player's motorcycle collided with a car near a downtown intersection and that Roethlisberger's head hit the windshield and was bleeding. Roethlisberger has said in the past that he prefers not to wear a helmet when riding.

ESPN.com's John Clayton reports that early indications are the injuries are not life-threatening.

One witness told KDKA television that Roethlisberger was conscious but appeared disoriented before he was taken from the scene to Mercy Hospital.

A Steelers spokesman is at the hospital and confirmed Roethlisberger is being treated there, but wouldn't provide additional details.

one of my friends went down yesterday... luckly he let go the bike and bike went off the cliff and he was fine! It happened right in front of me, he was leading the pack and I was second... I couldn't believe it when I saw him slide. Out of 17, everyone had jackets, gloves and helmets except one guy riding w/out jacket.

Woman driving car that turned in front of him, he hit car, rolled over hood head hitting windshield, rolled on over and hit head on sidewalk.

Woman walked over and he asked here where he was, she told him and asked what his name was, and he said Ben.

Lots of blood on pavement and he seems dazed.

Damn, was just watching this.

They had closeups of the car windshield. Holy crap, I'm surprised he was conscious. :shakehead

Good luck to him though.. It's never good to see stuff like this happen to anybody.

I'm sorry but anyone who rides a motorcycle without a helmet is an idiot. Ben should have known better and has too many people counting on him. I'm also surprised that the Steelers didn't put a no riding motorcycle clause in his contract.

I agree. He is an idiot. Motorcycles are iffy at best, and if you ride without a hemet, you're playing chicken in the game of life with God, and you're going to lose.
