It definitely wasn't soon enough. Anybody that's not Serena would've apologized for threatening someone for doing their job as soon as possible, which in this case is the post-match interview. Instead, she waits till two days after to issue a statement on her website. Classy.

You're doing a good job of noting what I've said. Maybe you'll also have noted that I said she rarely gives credit to players who beat her. She gave credit to Clijsters on Saturday, but that doesn't change her history of not doing so since she broke into the WTA.

I'm not educated enough on tennis to comment on the competition. All I'll say is that I tuned in about half way through the Federer/Djokovic match last night and Djokovic's GF is

Anyone hear Federer say 'shit' to the umpire? lol. But I gotta admit he has gotten screwed by the ref several times already this match...

Wow, Federer fell apart in the 5th set. Del Potro played an amazing game. I bet he'll be in the picture for quite a number of years.

I'm not sure sure how that even went 5 sets. It seemed like Del Potro was in command throughout. That forehand was killing Federer yet he kept giving it to him. He was far too conservative IMO. Almost everything was back to the centre of the court. Not to mention being at 50% on his 1st serve. It was a receipe for disaster. Too bad. I havne't yelled at my TV like that in years.

But if Del Potro can keep it up he could win a few more of these.

I'd put money on it. He dismantled Nadal and really outplayed Frederer. With the maturity level he's showing and his killer forehand he's gonna be trouble for a while. Plus he's only 20! He really played great.

Federer didn't know what to do in that 5th set. His serve and returns were horrible.

I think he kind of gave up in the 5th. He had no answers for that forehand.

I thought it was over the moment he got into it with the chair ump. He was rattled.

Only question with Del Potro is can that big body handle the grind or will he break down.

Agreed, strange call though. I'm surprised he let Federer challenge it. Oh well.

Well it is rarely, because she only plays the Masters and damn near never loses, and if she does, it's to her sister. So there isn't much of what you have tried to point out. If you listen to any player after losing a match just about all of them say, that they could have played better or should have done this or that. None of them give a lot of real props to their opponents.

She doesn't have a rep for doing what you say she does, it's just not talk about by the people that cover tennis.

Actually she does have a rep for it. Jon Wertheim at Cnnsi has addressed it multiple times in his mailbags and columns.

Excellent match yesterday between Federer and Del Potro. Hopefully Del Potro is here to stay on the big stage and won't become yet another one-time winner.
