Ash vs Maple wood bats
I'm starting to play for a baseball league that uses wood bats. All wood bats I've previously bought in my life have mostly been Ash wood. I'm looking into buying the Rawlings 350fm Maple wood bat.
I was wondering if you guys had any advice for/against buying maple bats. I know that when they break they tend to shatter to a million pieces rather than just getting split down the side or whatever. Does anyone know if one tends to have better "pop" or "rebound"? I've also seen some bamboo/maple bats that look sort of interesting too.
I'd also appreciate it if you actually played baseball or used wood bats. I'm not really looking for someone who's sat behind a computer and read up on facts from a bunch of different sites, I'm looking more for some first hand experience. Nonetheless any input would be appreciated. Thanks guys
