Anybody else getting tired of hearing about Michelle Wie

It seems that she's been in the sports news constantly lately and is getting a tremendous amount of exposure for someone who hasn't actually won anything yet. Does anyone else agree with me when i say she should stay on the LPGA tour and actually win a tournament or two before attempting to make a PGA tour cut?

I agree with you about winning a tournament or two before going on. She is also good for the sport and easy to look at for sure. I can't wait till she is 18

But, she's 15, doesn't even have her license yet but she's kicking ass. Definitely good for golf.

No doubt about it, but she's not good enough, yet, to be playing with the men, in my humble opinion. In a few more years, when she's well seasoned and has beaten Annika head to head in a few tournaments, then she should try to make a few cuts on the men's tour.

I don't give a rats ass about her and I don't think she's that good looking. I don't have the Asian fetish that 90% of white males seem to have.

She dominated both her matches in the Public Links Tournament yesterday... Winner of the match play event gets an invitation to the masters...

Why she's trying to prove herself with the men at such a young age is beyond me.

As long as they keep putting her picture up on the TV, I'm not gonna complain.

I think this is just like a Anna Kournakova thing -- attractive female athlete ... draw attention to the sport. Let the endorsement money roll in. Doesn't matter if she's actually good or not -- if she is, that's a bonus! (ie Sharapova)

Don't get me wrong -- I like Michelle Wie. You can tell she's just a kid if you ever heard her in an interview but that doesn't matter. I just hope she doesn't implode under the pressure of the public eye.

Yeah, too bad that guy in Britian who squirted him in the face with water didn't have access to battery acid. I'm so sick of hearing about him and Katie Holmes and his Scientology crap. You would think that he's the first person to ever get a piece of girl next door poonanny!

i didn't know what golf was. i never watched it. but when tiger woods came into the golf world, i've made my best to watch him whenever he plays even when he's at his lowest point. now michelle wie. same story. they both are a great asset to the golf world.

LEBANON, Ohio (AP) - Michelle Wie's quest for an invitation to next year's Masters ended Friday with a 5-and-4 loss in the quarter-finals of the U.S. Amateur Public Links.

Wie, the 15-year-old high school junior, lost four of the first five holes to Clay Ogden, a junior at Brigham Young University from West Point, Utah, and was 5-down at the turn.

Wie won her only hole when Ogden bogeyed No. 10, but Ogden bounced back with a birdie to win the 11th and closed out the match with a conceded par on the 14th.

"It's hard to beat birdies," Wie said softly. "It wasn't like I was playing bad. I was losing with a lot of pars. He played really great."

Ogden said he never relaxed until the match was decided. "You've got to keep the gas on and keep it going," he said.

On the deciding hole, Ogden missed the green, but his chip from the rough landed softly on the green and rolled to less than a foot. Wie conceded the putt and the two shook hands.

Wie said she learned a lot from the defeat.

"You have to be in the position he was today," she said. "You have to give your opponent no chance."

Wie had focused on the men's Public Links because the winner traditionally is invited to play at the Masters.

"Obviously, I'm disappointed, but it's not the end of the world," she said.

Wie, the first female to qualify for a men's USGA championship, won two matches Thursday to move into the quarter-finals. She beat Jim Renner 3-and-1 after earlier beating C.D. Hockersmith 6-and-5.
