It is true that there are a number of Black only organizations that have agendas clearly aimed at advancing the cause of Black Americans at any cost. (These are the same groups that have been giving Obama headaches for his audicity to be the president of all Americans -- MUCH to his credit -- and not just Black citizens.)

While the establishment of these groups and organizations may have had noble origins (mainly to combat institutional racism AND other societally "acceptable" racial injustices), they've not adjusted quickly enough to a society that has fast grown to be multicultural, multiracial and extremely progressive.

Whether or not the intent of this basketball league is an attempt to Aryanize a segment of the sport or simply an appeal to basketball purists, I don't know for certain. However, I suspect that the former is likely.

One thing is for certain: it is clearly polarizing and carries racist undertones, particularly as a) NBA rosters have become as diverse (read: less black) as I've EVER witnessed, b) many of the current NBA players possess varying degrees of basketball fundamental prowess and c) this league's beginnings are geographically in a region of the country where racism has historically been societal tenet for those who comprise the majority.

All that said, MrDeeno is spot on: This will not end well.
