i believe the rule is that you can be 15 as long as you turn 16 during this calendar year.

but there are speculations that the chinese girls are younger than that but have been issued passports by the chinese government that states they're of eligible age.

We still have..

3 Phelps medals
Men's & Women's Basketball
Men's & Women's Volleyball
Bryan brothers @ Men's Tennis Doubles.

I know it's a longshot, but I could see James Blake competing for the gold medal, or at least getting a medal in Men's Tennis

how is making a horse trot around considered an olympic sport?

i can understand them running a course with all the jumps, but just having a horse trot around is to me.

and the track and field events, which we normally do well in.

Seriously she looks about 9 or 10 to me.

Women's gymnastics was a little disappointing IMO. They could have taken China if they hadn't made so many mistakes. The Chinese girls were basically giving away the gold with all their wobbles on the balance beam. Oh well, silver is still very good.

We couldn't even imagine doing 3% of what she does. Mounting that beam like that I can only imagine is very difficult. Throwing all that added pressure on top makes it even worse.

Plus, it's heartbreaking to think about all the hard work the athletes put in just to get to where they are, and then when they have a shitty race/event/meet, it must just destroy them. I've been there, but I can't imagine having it happen at the Olympics.

guy lifts weights at the beijing olympics, arm bends the wrong way. weight kind of falls on him and then shows him screaming, then slow motion replay about 5 times.
