Tressel didn't even try to change the o-line scheme. Florida's d-line won them that game. Troy Smith was a VERY good college QB, but any QB needs more than no protection.
Because of the above, how many Florida scoring drives started on Ohio State's side of the 50? Way more than half?
Why didn't the defense overload the box when Tebow was in? He threw like 2 passes that year.

Oh well...

It will be a high scoring game, Oklahoma will win because I hate Florida.
just remember we could of done the same if we kept tebow and everryone else in the game past the 2nd quarter

Almost as good as your weekly..

They've never seen speed like SEC, they've never faced a defense like Florida and they've never seen a offense like Florida..

Week in week out.. Now that... that's a excellent analysis each week...

At least I'm more constructive than your sarcasm that isn't very entertaining for a majority of the posters in this thread...but yeah I do talk about speed a lot, because that is very important. Florida needs to use their athletes and speed to get to Bradford, where other defenses couldn't because of their gameplan and lack of athletic ability.

It's not my fault that this the college football thread and a lot of us here are UF fan and are excited and like to talk about how well our team is doing. If you are sick of hearing it than don't pay attention to thread IMO.

Show me their 40 times or something "speed related" compared to other teams/conferences and then you can use a blanket statement like "their speed" or "SEC speed"..

And no, I don't think anyone minds a discussion of Florida or SEC.. But when others are discussing outside of your clique. It is CONSTANTLY well SEC > * or Florida >*... The "My parents" are better then yours argument gets old...

That's where I come in to balance things out

If anyone disagrees with me speak up please..

Fair enough I can partially agree with what you are saying. I don't have all the stats here, but I recall hearing that Florida leads the nation with over 20 players with 4.4 speed or quicker.

Don't jinks us renegade! lol

It's going to be a great game for sure. My pops got tickets so he's headed down state, looking for some myself but don't really want to put up the kind of money they're asking.

But nonetheless, it'll be nice to play a Big 12 team, hopefully with better results than the last time UF played one for the BCS Championship. That '95 Nebraska game was nasty...

Wow, Florida fans can't take harmless sarcasm/jokes. Maybe as an Ohio State fan I've heard them all and have become numb to the constant SEC (yes the whole conference) > Ohio State jibber jabber.

Texas has a stronger team. Just my . Although OSU raped Michigan. Michigan's not what they used to be, but it was fun to watch OSU's offense perform. Very entertaining!

I think Tressel is one of the smarter coaches out there, he'll find a way to give UT a run for their money regardless!

I did a quick look and overall Florida does have "faster" players based on 40 times. Although it is a lot closer than Renegade thinks. Oklahoma has some speed on defense though.

Either way it should be a great game if Oklahoma doesn't choke like history shows.

Florida fans...
Is Tebow staying for his Senior season? Who is there to take over the position when he does leave?

I think it'll take a couple years for them to get back into contention once he leaves.

Tebow is coming back. He likes college too much, and he loves Gainesville.

John Brantley is Tebow's backup. It's a huge dropoff, so yes you might be right. But if I were a betting man, I would not bet against Meyer.

There will be a drop off from Tebow, but Brantley was the #3 Pro-style QB in his class, and you have another dual-threat QB in this years class. If Meyer can figure out the running game WITHOUT having Tebow there then the drop off won't be huge.

Although it will be just in time for Florida to get beat by Auburn 2 years in a row again.

Pffffffffft. Auburn is nothing without the DC and the head coach.

You won't find a better person than Tuberville. I thought he was a great coach as well. He beat Bama for six straight years, longest streak between the two teams since 1982! He took Auburn to what should have been a national championship in 2004 while going undefeated. I don't understand why Auburn was in such a rush to let him go. Sure he fired his offensive coordinator in the middle of the season, but still that doesn't make him a bad coach. Some team is going to pick up a great coach with Tommy Tuberville.

You, along with the majority of America, don't understand the inner politics that was going on. Shit, I don't know everything, but I know enough to agree with letting him go.

1) 1 SEC Championship in 10 years, 2 appearances
2) Inability to let go of his assistants
3) 6 OC's in 10 years (2 former OC's still getting paid)
4) Declining SEC record since 2004, with a 2-6 SEC record in 2008
5) Losing games AT home that we shouldn't have lost

Beating Alabama 6 straight times is not good enough. Yes it was fun to say "Got 6," or hold up 6 fingers, but that complacency was what got Tuberville fired.

You think Florida would be happy winning 6 in a row against FSU, but no SECCG or MNC appearances/titles? I wouldn't be shocked to see Mark Richt go in a couple of years.. he consistently underachieves every year with a ton of talent. Don't be surprised to see Les Miles or Mark Richt fired in 2-3 years.

Just FTR.. a majority of Auburn fans love Coach Tuberville. I don't hold any bad feelings toward him, but it was time for him to go.

at my coworkers that went to texas tech.

first they were bitching because texas tech isn't playing in a BCS bowl game. according to them, texas should be in the cotton bowl because they lost to tech.

and now, they're bitching that harrell isn't going to NY.

My 5 BCS Bowl game predictions, as of now:

Rose Bowl: USC > Penn St. - (although I would love for Penn St. to win)
Sugar Bowl: Bama > Utah
Fiesta Bowl: Texas > Ohio St.
Orange Bowl: Cincinatti > Va Tech
Championship: Florida > OU (but a close, high scoring game)

^ I want to take Penn St. They have a decent defense and their offense is great, but I just think USC's defense will be too much.
Also I picked Bama cus they are solid all around and I have no clue about Utah..

College Bowl Mania

I set up a group for Acurazine with Espn to see who has what it takes to go all the way.

This message is from GSI who is challenging you to play College Bowl Mania on ESPN.com.

This game challenges you to select the winners of each of the NCAA college football bowl games. You can play with a Confidence scoring system (assign confidence points to your picks) or Straight scoring system (just pick the winners!). Best of all, the game is FREE to play!

Get in the action now:
http://games.espn.go.com/bowlmania/group?groupID=16957

Game Front:
http://games.espn.go.com/bowlmania/frontpage

Group: Acurazine
