Let me ask a stupid question - does it TURN the ignition, but not start the car?

If it turns the cut is fine.. you just need to get the immobilizer chip programmed @ Acura..
No I didn't bring the template because I deemed it unnecessary because they are suppose to be professionals. The ignition won't turn at all. I think they messed up the key but why would it then turn the door open then??

Not sure honestly.. maybe you should try inserting/removing the key in door lock, trunk passthrough lock, and glove box lock a few times and see if that helps.. it's possible there's just some sharp pieces that need to wear down on the key thus preventing the ignition switch from turning.. maybe the ignition has a tighter tolerance and that's the problem

Talking I finally got my keys cut and programmed

Based on recommendations from some members based in the GTA, I went to a locksmith (with FLBUSA's instructions). They cut a 'demo' key to try first. It opened the doors well, went into the ignition, but wouldn't turn it over. The initial thought was that the immobilizer was required to turn (THIS IS INCORRECT). The immobilizer only enables the car to start, without the immobilizer programmed it will turnover but will not start.
Based on the assumption that the 'demo' key would not turn in the ignition because of the chip, we proceeded to cut the mem1 key.
That went into the door AND ignition beautifully - no issues, so we proceeded with my mem2 key - same great results.
I believe the big step is to follow FLBUSA's instructions about matching the 'notch' in setting up the cutting.

I then went to a 3rd Acura dealer (the first two said it wouldnt work because of different chip technologies - eventhough they've done them already for other members here ) to program all my keys, and I have to say THIS IS THE BEST MOD FOR THE MONEY.

Thank you FLBUSA!!!!

Pete,

Is there anyway I can just purchase the just the milled key (I still have the remote part and all)?? I have bought two switchblade keys from you and they were both messed up by the dealer and the locksmith but the locksmith won't refund me the money. So I now have two messed up keys and neither work. I just need the milled key and the black piece that is on there already.

What you do is you send him the $95 dollars through Paypal. FLBusa.com is the site. You get the key, you either can bring it to a locksmith or the dealership for them to cut your key and program your key.

It refers to the memory seats function. I am not sure which years support it but I know the TSX 2006+ supports that feature. If you don't have a car that supports the memory seats it's cheaper to just get the mem 1 (Memory 1) key.

Open button NOT working

I just received the switchblade key yesterday.. This thing looks awesome... I've programed the remote per instruction given on the website but the darn open button does not work... Lock, trunk and panic works just fine... except for the open button. Did anyone encounter this situation? Am I doing somthing wrong or is the key defective? I haven't cut the key or programed the immobilizer chip yet but was planning to do so today.... Guess it'll have to wait until i figure out why the open button doesn't work.

FYI, I have a 04 tsx.

Any feedback would be great.

i think you need to hold both lock/unlock at the same time or something to make it start working. its a simple fix, someone should chime in shortly.

try this: https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=118

kdav78 - yeah, basically you have to use that button combo to "link" your new key to the system. Enjoy.

He is going to send you a modified key that would work with your car... then you'll have to take it to a locksmith to have it cut for your car... and also programmed for you car...

It shouldn't cost you more than $60 to cut and program...

I live in windsor and had the key cut at essex county locksmiths on tecumseh road right down from the honda dealer. I had the dealer program the immobilizer after wards. It was about 15 bucks to cut. If you don't mind crossing the border it's worth it they did a great job.

updated dealer list

Has the dealer list been updated since the p.2 version? I live in Columbus OH where the dealers have trouble spelling Acura. Any recommendations in the Midwest area? I travel alot on business and could stop by a dealer in OH/MI/IN if I knew they were recommended. Thanks.
