yhea, i just replaced my front inner fender plastics. i got them off ebay for like @20 a piece, they went on fine. ok, 7 people in, 2 to go, lets do this by monday,hahaaaa

yhea, i wanted oem at first too but after seeing both, aftermarket does look good. Oemacuraparts.com or acuraoemparts.com both would prob. have the oem's

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum (first time even posting) and I wanted to know if I can order the A-Spec body kit for my Acura TL 2008 base . . .

I was reading some of the user's post and I figured out that there is two A-spec body kit for the TL ( one for the Base and one for the Type S).

I saw how the A-Spec body kit looks like on a Type S but have trouble founding one on a Base model. If someone can post a few pics on how it would look on a Base model I would like to order one too. ( prefer black if possible, mines black )

Before i decided I wanted to see the same. I have a base. There are pictures in this thread starting around page 6 or so, if you look through you can find base models with this kit. Or just try googling it. It looks good on the base model

 

The Type s can mount on a base rear bumper with a little fab work. To do the Type S front, you will need a Type S bumper to mount it to.

If we can have a solid 9 today then i will text Ack and see if he can send invoices out tomorrow or Wednesday. That way we can pay and get them shipped out.

I actually just found a writeup of a few people being able to install a type s aspec on their 08 base bumper, just a little extra drilling and removing stock fog casing.

So I checked some stuff online and I just want to make sure about something:

On my Base 08 TL, if I get the TYPE S BACK and FRONT (bumpers) is this what they both should look like?? Also to install it do I have to do any trimming or is is just like a plug and play easy thing? (I'm also going to get quad tips once I install the rear Typse s Bumper)...Also should I get the side skirts? Does is make a difference?

If everything that I said is good would it be possible to tell me what the price is (with side skirts) with shipping to Montreal, Quebec, Canada?? I might add to the list if it goes this works out

Both the front and back aspec type s installation on an 08 model requires extra drilling. Side skirts are an option but it will look much sleeker when you see everything on together. i say do the whole thing at once. youll save money as well through group buy

To clarify, if I get the Type S Rear AND Back bumpers, does it require any drilling? Or is it just plug and play? If there is drilling I'm guessing it can't be hard... also if it comes with the Aspec I'm guessing its another story? Assuming that I might have to drill the Aspec into the Type S bumpers right?

 

if you buy the type s rear then the type s rear aspec will fit right on. This group buy is only for the Aspec lip kit and not the bumpers it's self.

not sure what you mean by the Type S rear and back bumper?

Here is a side by side of the base Aspec and Type S aspec. Both will fit on the base bumper. You will have to do a little cutting on your base bumper to get the rear Type s lip to fit though.

 

If you have a Base 08 TL, you can mount the Type S apsec to it but it will require you to do some cutting to your bumpers to make them fit. The Base aspec kit will bolt right on.

Anyways I found this and I think I am 100% sure this is good right ;

• The Type-S A-Spec front and rear pieces can fit on Base TL bumpers. Modifications will have to be made to do so since the bumpers have different overall shapes and since the Type-S rear bumper has wider exhaust outlets.
• BOTH 04-06 and 07-08 Base front lips will fit a Type-S, but modifications will have to be made
• ALL A-Spec sideskirts are the same. There is NO difference between 04-06 Base, 07-08 Base, and 07-08 Type-S A-Spec sideskirts. Part numbers and paint codes may differ but they look identical and install the same way.
• ALL 04-08 Base rear lips are the same.

I want the middle one, which is according the image the 2008 TL-S A-Spec (middle). If this is what I'm going to order with you guys then I'm down. Also the front lip that I'll get is the 2007-2008 Type S A-Spec right? I think I'll be the 9th person

 

All is correct but i am unsure about the 04-06 Base front lip fitting a type s bumper. I know the 07-08 Base will fit with a small amount of fab work.
