I have an '03 TL-S and I'm thinking of replacing my stock low-beam HIDs and fog lights... Lately, it just seems my lights aren't as bright. I care more about the brightness rather than the actual color. Since the higher the deg K, the lower the visible light... I think I'd go with the same K as the stock and just replace the fog lights to HIDs... that would probably help make it brighter... Thoughts?

Any suggestions on which fog lights I should get? And do you have 4300K or anything closer to replace my stock HIDs?

You would want 5000K, which is a natural white and is the closest to OE and the most light ouptut possible. Over time HID's bulbs deteriorate and the light output worsens so it is important to change them to maintain the light ouptut. I have both 5000K D2C bulbs and 5000K fog light kits available. I can do $440 shipped for the package.

Hi, a noob here...

I recently purchased a Bright Red 2001 CL Type S from a really old chap, (he was 82yrs old). Vehicle is in immaculate condition inside and out...Car has (what I believe to be) the factory low beam bulbs...But they have a slightly blueish hue, unless they turn that way with time....3 weeks ago, I slipped in the ice and rear-ended a jeep, damaging my right headlight unit among other things. Insurance replaced the entire headlight assembly under coverage. Problem is that the new unit on the damaged side actually looks very white and clear. The body shop said what they have in place are the original ones made by Acura in 2001. They also said they believe with time, they might actually match the blueness of the other. In any case, visibility on the road is markedly improved but looks very distorted to me...Would love to replace both bulbs to something blueish, like the 8500k.

Is the buy still on for the 8500k, and is it something you would personally recommend? I read somewhere earlier in this thread that the 6000k & 6500k had better visibility than the 8500k, and that the 8500k deteriorate with time. I simply want a clean colored light that would maintain they clarity and brightness in the long term...I also don't fully understand this whole deal with D2S, D2R, D2C...blaziblah.....Thanks for your assistance...

Nevermind, found all my answers....Read the entire thread. I apologize for being such a nuisance...Reading all the previous posts does wonders...

On a more serious note, I want to know if the group buy is still on, or should I, at this point, go on the website: www.ExceleratePerformance.com

I am really looking forward to having these lights on my car. They look excellent from what I see in the pics, and with the quality and reliability expressed by others in the aforementioned posts, to me, there is no way about it...I must have these bulbs.

I have decided to get the LOW BEAM Kaixen 6500k upgrade/replacement bulbs for an '01 CL Type S. Do you have some currently in stock? How long would it take if I sent you the money via paypal today to ship to zip code 21136, Reisterstown Maryland. Another question I have is what exact information you would need me to specify in my paypal transaction?

Basically you would just need the KAIXEN D2C upgrade bulbs for the low beams. They are $150 shipped and are good in stock. You can send payment to excelerate@sbcglobal.net via Paypal and specify the part you're ordering and for what car. It will take about 2 bus days to get to MD.

Payment sent through Paypal a few minutes ago...My guess is that since the new year is around the corner, I might not receive these until towards the end of next week since the holidays don't count as business days?

Check your email (sometimes it goes into the Spam folder) for your invoice and tracking info.

Happy New Year Excelerate!

I didn't get the email. Could you kindly resend that email? I have had my spam folder inactive for a while now, so there is not even a question of it being sent there...Try sending it to me at jdowuona@gmail.com

Thanks for your help....I am really looking forward to installing these lights in my car...

my turn

OK - looks like it is my turn to order. I need new bulbs for my '03 TL-S. One of them is color shifting whihc means replace both, right? From reading throughthe various threads, I have decided that I want to stick close to the OEM brightness and light being "thrown" so I'd like to order the 5000K set. Please let me know what all I need to do to make the transaction happen.

I am asuuming the $1450 shipped price is still a go?

Thanks,
Sean

You would want 5000K since this is closest to OE and you want to replace it in pairs or you will have different color bulbs. Besides HID's lose their light output over time so it's good to change them, esp when one goes out.

Yes just send $150 to excelerate@sbcglobal.net via Paypal Specify what you're ordering and for what car.

Recieved the bulbs today. Installation only took about 10 minutes since I have done this before.. They look great.

BTW: You sent me 6,500K bulbs instead of the 6,000K. I have a blown headlight so the 6,500 will have to do..which is ok with me since they look good anyway.

Thanks!

You paid with an eCheck so it will take a few days for the check to clear. Once it ships it will be 5 bus days to CA.

I am sorry for the mistake. I'm glad you like them though. If you need something else in the future remind me of this and I will take a some money off that purchase.

eCheck??? I went through PayPal as you requested and as I have done many times with other transactions. It is supposed to simply simply a transfer of funds from my bank account. I have never experienced delays before. I hope all continues to go smoothly.

Pics Of 6500k Setup...

For those who might be interested in some pics of my setup...Sorry for the cheap camera phone...

Next, I adjusted the brightness on my camera to bring better light out of headlights.

You can see the hint of purple but is clearly more visible at nightime...My cellphone produces glaring pics at nighttime so, I would post some night-time pics when I am able to land my hands on a proper DIGITAL CAMERA...

The bulbs took less than 24 hours to ship to nyc and arrived yesterday. I'm going to install the lights this weekend and take some pictures because I'm sure some people out there want to compare the 5000k setup to the OEM and 6000k lights. Thanks.

I can get 9006 HID conversion bulbs but I don't know if it will plug into the Phillip's ballast. Email me with pics your connectors and I will try to compare them. Excelerate@sbcglobal.net

Installing the new HID low beams and foglights was a breeze. The pictures may look scary since the bumper had to be removed, but it was a pretty simple job. As promised, here's a post of the Kaixen 5000k HID lights versus the 4300K OEM setup.

Old right low beam. My OEM lights seem to look just a bit more yellow than other stock HIDs i see on the road with reflector housings.

New 5000k bulb in the low beam. Picture will look brighter because of camera flash, but at least you can get a sense of the color.

Old and new light output side by side. Notice though that there is a lot more light above the cutoff point because the D2C lights don't have a glare shield so be sure to aim your lights properly.

A final shot of the car with low beams and 5000k foglights installed.

I am wondering when I will receive my bulbs. The financial part of the transaction was completed on the 16th and I have not received anything yet. I sent an email directly to you last week but, as of last night, I have not gotten a response. Can you tell me when my order was shipped? Is there a tracking number or anything that I can check on?

Thanks.
