I would be all over this if it wasn't for the lack of extra "fun money" to spend. AWESOME deal!

Yes if you are not local you'll need to removed the ECU and immobilizer from the car and send it in to Hodnata for processing. Then they send it back. There are a couple days of downtime but it is all SOOOO worth it!

If we happen to be local, is there any way of getting the reflash done without sending the ECU/etc in?

Thanks,
Jason

Yeah Hondata is like a stubborn burro. Push and tug and you get nowhere. Leave them alone and they do great things. That is what my experience has been.

Of course they do know to let me know if something for the unsupported communities comes out!

Elaborate on what? You asked if there is a way to do this without shipping in the parts. And there is. Obviously you'd be bringing your car in for work

Allow me to rephrase my question then

Can someone local show up, and have the reflash done while we wait?
I would need to know where to show up and all the details that go along with that, if that's an option.

Yes. Depending on how many local people we get we might have a meet at the same time.

Maybe I am assuming too much SE-Rious

I certainly would not expect you to buy into this deal without having confidence that the details put together for collecting the product will be the most convenient way for you possible. But it is not the time for those details now. Right now, it is time to decide if you indeed want the product and if you do to place the order.

All the information will come as time goes by. I can't see how nuances of dispersion of the product will impact your ability to commit. You should feel confident that we will accomodate you personally as best as we possibly can.

I don't know I if I can resist this deal . I might have to cave to my urges. Ha ha! If I buy in, is there a specific date by which I have to send off my ECU and immobilizer? Can I send them off in January?

Same here. I'm working on getting the wife and my parents to chip in as my Christmas present (since i don't want/need anything else, at least not as much as Hondata!). I'm probably 75% "in" on this deal, just gotta talk the financiers into it.

Got this PM and these questions have been asked a few times so I'm posting here:

Also, when do I get charged? Up front, or when the group buy goes ahead?

Last question is whether I can provide a different address in the US to ship the ECU back to as it is much faster than waiting for Canadian customs. I do have an address in WA that you have sent me products to before.

Thanks

Hey there,

Now first thing you need to make sure of is that you are checking out the "group buy" reflash where you enter your screen name and forum. You can only get to this page by linking from the forum.

Next you need to make sure that you add all the costs in, such as credit card and paypal fees if you are paying that way. This raises the cost of the item.

Once you add to cart you also need to make sure you enter the coupon code in my signature to drop the price down. It still might be more than $519 depending on the shipping method you chose and the payment method you are using. But it will be the correct price.

You will be charged immediately. And we will provide ecu shipping instructions once the buy is over. After Dec 18th.

We can ship to WA for you, not a problem.

Marcus

How many people are in so far? I am planning on buying in but I'm not sure if I want to bother if number of people already in is not at least close to 10.

We have one person in, updating the thread now

Funny thing about not being sure on this one is that we will never get to 10 if people don't join! So, IMO, you either would like the reflash or not and if you do, you are going to get a decent deal on this one even if we don't get to 10!

True. I should be able buy in before thursday. One more question. Do I have to fill in the ECU serial number when I go to buy in, because I will have to take it out just to get the number and then replace it until it is time to send it off. Not that its that big of a deal if I do have to. Just wondering.

I prefer to get the number on your order but if you want to wait until later that is fine too.

The 3g tl does not have a reflash available unfortunately.

Didn't I explain the basics in another thread ("I want to reflash") just the other day? Check out the hondata website for more technical info.
