Acura Racing Pedals Group Buy
I'm having trouble as well with the accelerator pedal coming up. As hard as I press the button in the back, the pedal just won't budge. The Nuts and bolts for the accelerator seem the hardest. And apparently, I can't put them on until I get the accelerator pedal out of the base.
Help please.

I pushed the accelerator button and would hear it click and pop up a little, but it wouldn't come all the way up. I even used my KTC Panel Popper tool to try and pry it up with no success.
The footrest did come out easily for me...I took it out of the car...started drilling holes in the car for the new rest, then decided that this is way too difficult and simply mounted it on top of the stock foot rest and snapped it back into place. It was a lot easier to mount it up on my workbench than in the car!!
Oh...the little "L" thing that other poster is referring to is an allen wrench...the tool you use to mount these....and you supply it yourself!!

I woke up this morning, decided to give it another shot, pretty much, here's a simple diagram I drew to show you guys how to release the accelerator pedal.
The button is pressed in towards the back of the pedal, (also towards back of the car, as stated in the instructions). Don't worry about putting too much pressure on the pedals, you won't break anything, just wiggle, it requires some force. Wiggle the pedal out and it will release. The bottom two are easiest to put nut and washer into, however, the top two are pretty much impossible since the hole is quite deep within the pedal, and the screw provided is too short. Since the bottom two are secure, I didn't bother putting the nut and washer at the top ones.
As for the dead pedal, you use the regular screws. No need for nut and washer. Just screw the dead pedal.
A little more thought into my own would've made this job easier for me, I guess I just found out the hard way right? Overall, this "would've" been a 2.5 hour install, yet through my slowness, and inability to figure out how the accelerator pedal releases, it took me about 4.5 hours.

Are you guys drilling holes the same diameter as the screw so that the screw goes clean through the hole? Or are you drilling a tad smaller so that the screw grips the back metal plate? Thanks.

Sorry Lajit we dont make them for that application and dont have any plans to at this time. You can try a retro fit using a set from the 1999 but you have to see it part numbers match up.
Thanks
