You can pull the plates out like Chusteveb did, But its really not necessary, Leaving the stock sills under there are fine.

If you build something sure. There are no clips on the underside of Dave's sills, and you could probably attach some, but then you lack the support that the plastic from the original sill would give. Maybe you can go to a junk yard and pick up the OEM sills cheap? The metal could look like shit, all you need is the plastic.

Dave,
I got a Volt Meter. I tested a few wires yesterday to see which ones can be used with the '05. I got the front passenger side to work but didnt get a chance to do the back passenger side. The drives side Im not worried about to much.. YET.
I will test more on Saturday morning when I have more light and more time. Going home afterwork and trying to do this isnt good.

Well you are supposed to put the front and back sills on the same +, so then on each side of the car, you only have 1 wire to hook to positive.

What wire did you use on the passenger side for +/power? A picture (with an arrow?) and text description would be great.

I have a complete install of the sills on my car and they look good. I did run into the fitment problem with the back sills. The 3M tape would not hold so I used epoxy to hold them down and that solved the problem.

The quality of the materials is first rate but I have to admit, the fitment on the back sills is poor. The trailing end of the sill is not bowed at all like the OEM sill...it's not even close. I'm going to give it a shot, letting them sit overnight with close pins. Might have to add one or two more layers of 3M tape to the rear sills.

SparkAF,

Let me know how you make out, Want to make sure you are ok with it, Bend on the rears is not 100% but very workable, Very tuff curve to duplicate we did out best and it should be close enough to work with and look good. It should only be off a hair. If you have any questions let me know.

Can someone please tell me where the blue and yellow wire is that the instructions mentions? I can't seem to find it.
The instructions say its connector 28 but I see no mention of this connector in the service manual. The picture in the instructions points to a connector that does not have a blue and yellow wire. (Has a big black and yellow wire).

I can't use the white wire mentioned earlier in this tread bc my T-taps will not fit this wire and no store around me carries them that big.

My poor car is in pieces.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

SuperComputers,

The fronts are in, perfect fitment...look really good. The rears are wired but I still have the sills held together with close pins...heated them up with a hairdryer and then I laid them on the clothes dryer...keeping them warm hoping they set up better. If that does not hold them, I bought some more 3M heavy duty double sided tape. I'll just keep layering it till it feels the gap and holds them in place.

So when will we see the pedals? Put me down for the "A-Spec" ones.

RS808,

If your fuse slot #3 is open wire both sides to that slot, it is hot all the time...that's what I did.

Okay gang,
Here we go. I finished installing my sills in my '05.
Passenger Front:
I used the same wires as the lights on the doors when you open it. It generates 11.87 volts.
Above the amplifier there is a set of 2 white connectors. You may have to pull it down to see it. One with a Yellow/green wire and one with a Grey/blue wire.
The Yellow/green is the (-) and the Grey/Blue is (+).

I ran this for the front passenger sill. And ran the positive wire to use for the rear passenger.

Passenger Rear:
The negitive wire for the rear passenger is Green/white. It is bundled up in the whole coil of wires going across the floor board. I attached the negitive sill wire to this.

Tested and taped everything up.

Drivers Front:
I used the same wires as the lights on the doors when you open it. It generates 12.86 volts. I dont know why it higher than the passenger.
In the picture the Yellow/Blue is (-) and the Grey/Blue is (+). Not sure how to explain where they are so here are the pictures. I attachted the volt meter to show where they are.

I used these for running the front sills. And ran the positive wire to use for the rear passenger.

Drivers Rear:
The negitive wire for the rear passenger is Green/yellow. It is bundled up in the whole coil of wires going across the floor board. I attached the negitive sill wire to this. Sorry forgot to take a pic, but its in the same area as on the passenger side.
I attached the negitive sill wire to this. Tested, taped, and sealed.
If you have questions let me know.

Now I need some HELP......In doing all of this I blew a fuse to my rear sensors. I got the fuse but my navi reset itself and was asking for a code?? I punched in what I thought was the code and tried several other codes. Then the damn screen just went blank and nothing comes up. So I did ye ole disconnect the battery, and now the damn radio wont even come on without a code. There is no place to put in a code the navi system wont show anything. WTF. fix one thing and Bam.
The dealer doesnt open til Monday. ARG..

GRich4U,

Did you try testing your fuse box, bottom row, 3rd one in from the left (#3 fuse slot) should be constant 12 volts. I installed left and right sills there with a "Add-A-Circuit" installed 2 ea 7.5 amp fuses...no problems

Nah, I didnt try it that way. I was just so unhappy with the instructions because they were made for the '04, and I couldnt find the correct wires, that I wanted to get it done. I figured using the same wires as the door lights would be easy.

Well heating the rears sills up with a haidryer didn't work, rear of sill just won't stick so I took a strip of heavy duty velcro and slipped it in and it seems to be holding pretty good. If this works for the rears I'll use velcro if and when the front sills start separating.

Thanks man!

I couldn't find the hot wires in the instructions so I used the Mini add a circuit from autozone. I wired both sides to #12 in the fuse box using one 7.5A fuse. I hope 1 fuse is enough?
I tried this before I read your post about using #3 and it seems to work fine.

Like everyone is posting the front sills fit perfect but rears do not. I ended up using epoxy because no matter how much 3m tape I used the sills would not stay in place.

Overall, the sills look great and the product is high quality. I only wish the instructions were more detailed. My opinion on install time is it's going to take the average person about 3hrs.

Thanks supercomputers for a great product!

I thought of using epoxy too, but I thought I'd give velcro a shot before I'd use epoxy, it seems to hold pretty good.

I'm going to have to get some epoxy on mine today. I can see where the rear sills are rubbing on the bottom of the door every time I open and close it.

I still haven't installed mine for two reasons:
1) waiting for the 3m t taps that I ordered on ebay to arrive. I could not find them at all in any local auto store, home depot, lowes...etc

2) still trying to get the sills to stick correctly to the plastic. I also removed the metal part of the OEM sills, and maybe that is part of my problem (that I needed to use more 3m tape to fill in the gap from the OEM metal).

The rear sills do not have the bend in the correct spot, it is about a half inch too early, and I think the angle isn't correct either. So I have been using all the clamps I could find to try and eliminate any gaps between the OEM plastic and the lighted sills. My worry is that after everything is 'sticking correctly', I will go to put the rear sills in my car, and they won't fit right (because instead of making the metal bend to match the plastic, the plastic is bent to match the incorrect metal. We will see what happens.

I saw that chusteveb mentioned his sills are rubbing against the door. I am hoping that my attempt at bending the rear sills aliviates this. I would like to avoid the usage of epoxy or other 'permanent adhesives'.

I hope you have better luck then me with the 3m tape. I used about 1/4 roll and the sills wouldn't stick for long periods of time.

AdamNJ,

Have you tried velcro? I know it's not as permament as the 3M tape. I had to use it on the left rear door sill, leading and trailing ends...it's working so far.

Guys

Just a few thoughts,

We never had any problems with the test sills as far as rubbing goes Mine do not rub at all and I am not sure why we are running into that. As Far as the rear sills go the fit is not perfect but its pretty close. Close enough to get a good fit and look good, Again I will check back with the developer and get his thoughts on what his take is. We did use a few drops of Plastic based Epoxy on my rear sills. They hold fine and do not rub at all. Its also not permanent. Its Rubber plastic based and peels right off when dry if you want to remove it.

Let me know if we are running into any other problems out there So I can address them.

I have seen a few shots of install pics to this point and they are looking real sharp.

Dave, can you give me more info on the epoxy you used? I was under the impression that besides smelling real bad that the stuff is pretty permanent. I mentioned that I want 'semi-permanent', because I want the sills to hold very weel, but not damage the plastic underneith at all, so that if I decided to uninstall your sills, all I have to do is heat them up and peel it off. I took out my OEM metal parts so I wouldn't have to worry about damaging them at all.

I haven't checked on my sills for 2 days now....one of the rears is still sitting in clamps. I guess I will check on them tonight.

When you took out your sills, did you take out the plastic casing surrounding it? I guess it's the weather stripping.

Not sure what you mean. But the OEM sills are two parts, the interior aluminum, and the plastic which the metal is attached to. The plastic is what is actually connected to your cars frame. So you have to remove both (because they are already stuck together). The weather stripping is the rubber molding around the door. In order to make the removal of the sills easier you should pull off the weather stripping.
