So does anyone have some stock rims that I can borrow? Ill even give you a deposit to hold till I can get them back to you......I put my head back on straight...lol and I think Im just gonna get my rims powder coated to Gunmetal...
Get the V2 intake on order... and not worry about the ridiculously expensive rims at the moment...

Where are you having your wheels powder coated? I was thinking about doing my a-spec's in black.

Great pics guys!!! Wish I could of made this one
Hopefully we can do another sometime soon (maybe on a Saturday afternoon)???
@CG's 3GTL - I recently got new tires (about four months/2K miles ago), and really wanted new rims, but it just wasn't in the budget. Instead, I painted mine with Dupli-color Graphite Hi-Perf Wheel Paint and Dupli-Color Clear Hi-Perf Wheel Paint. They came out looking great, and they are holding up well (even after being on and off the car more times than I'd like to count). It took me two days to paint (two per day). The most time went into preparation - a lot of sanding on the stock finish, masking (I used 3" blue painter's tape stuck down into the bead, and a large roll of "saran wrap" to mask the tires). About three coats of primer, four coats of color, and two coats of clear. I bought everything at Pep-Boys on Hillsborough (near Dale Mabry). They had what I needed in stock. Sometimes I wonder how they would look in black.

I've done this to a few rims ^ You'd be surprised at how well spray paint can turn out Preparation is definitely the most important step

Its a company that we use with our company for our products they are located in Clearwater FL called Technifinish...
So I just called him and he said that he is working on some kind of group discount deal.... Depending on the condition of the rim it can range between 200 and 260 for all 4 rims... Thats including the sand blasting before the coat... I would say in our case around $240 for all 4 rims! Tires have to be dismounted.
But in the mean time lets see if we can get some people to commit to this and I can email him the sooner I know how many people we can get the cheaper Its should be!

And for what ever reason he has never heard of Gunmetal? lol But is also going to look into this... If not Im going Black...
I think that if we can decide on the same color it will keep his material cost down and keep are price down as well!

I'd be down for black. Would he be able to fix blemishes? My previous owner curbed all 4 wheels pretty good. If I could get these back to a smooth finish with fresh paint, that would be awesome. Worst case scenario, my selling price could drastically increase and more than make up for the money spent

I dont think he can do refinishing but Ill ask him if he may know someone... He said that if they were small blemishes that he could possibly sand them out but if they are serious curb checks then most likely not... The black he said would cover up small scratches really well...

He said that it purrs very nicely! Not loud enough to get on your nerves inside the car!
What do ya think guys? Good deal?

That's almost exactly what I have. I have the dynomax resonator, removed the mid muffler, and welded on tips that fit perfectly in the a-spec rear without any modifications. Not very loud at all, but a beautiful tone. I'm thinking about removing my 3rd cat, just to get it a little louder. The type s tips won't fit on any bumper but the type s bumper, without some modifications. Just a heads up.

Yea so Maybe I can talk this guy down then he is 4 hours from me!
As for the mod's it can be any harder then cutting the molds for the exhaust right?
Did it on my honda when I put on Tanabe DTM tips back in the day...
I just want something clean and sounds nice... What better then the quads from a type-s.

Yes, I believe you have to widen the openings in the rear

I got them put on at AK Tires, in Clearwater. I was going to have AP Tires (ironic) put them on, but didn't want to carry 4 rims and 4 tires around in the TL The guys at AP said they haven't scratched a rim in over 3 years. It was who my mother suggested to go through. May be a bit more costly, but you should have a bit more peace of mind with them.

Time for the bad news. This is how my Tuesday night ended
Isn't TOO bad, but the rear door jam isn't aligned like it used to be, so I'm really hoping there isn't any frame damage. I'd rather not have the car totalled out.
Basic story :
- Going to a friend's house
- Start making a right turn (with my blinkers on)
- Guy in 08 Toyota Tundra says he dropped his phone, and went to reach for it, not seeing me turning
- Impact knocks my hat off my head, opens the sunroof cover, and windshield wipers turn on
- Hardly any damage to his truck

That blows!!! My sincere apologizes about your car. We put so much time, money, and effort into our cars - it sucks big time when stuff like this happens, especially over a dropped cell phone!!! (expletives ommitted almost everywhere)
Glad to know that you are okay. Take care.

Thank you. It does suck when accidents like this happen. I've been a trigger for bad luck the past year. I've put everything into my car, and it's my most prized possession, so to see it in the condition it's in now is heartbreaking.

Just got off the phone with an insurance agent, and I'm able to take my car to any shop I chose. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should take it? I was thinking about Ferman Acura, since I'd prefer it to all be taken care of through an actual Acura distributor. I know most dealers send cars out for body work, but according to their website, they have their own collision center

I drive by this place on my way to work every day. I have seen lambos, benzs and bimmers in there getting body work fixed on a regular basis. It is over in Clearwater, which would be a hike for you, but thought I'd post it. If it's okay for a lambo, it's okay for my car lol.

Just got the quote yesterday, and it's looking at around $3,500. That's going to be the bottom number, because they're going to try to fix some things as opposed to replacing them. It will all be taken care of, just won't be able to get in the shop until the 5th

If anyone is interested in my near brand new wheels/tires, I think I may be selling them soon I can't ever keep anything, I'm always indecisive. I just found a set of wheels I think I'd be happier with. Also going to be looking out for Tein SS's and selling my near brand new Tokico blues/Tein S-tech combo.

Just moved here yesterday
I just moved to Tampa yesterday and plan on living in the Westchase area. I have a 2003 TL-S. I'd be down for a meet and I'm also wondering if anyone has any recommendations on a good mechanic.

About the mechanic, I have never been there, but my father in-law brings his 2001 BMW to this guy Borislav Itric and he's real happy with him. He's quite far from you though,
